As more players arrive on the server I felt the need to start this thread so that they can learn how to behave while in a party. I myself get frustrated sometimes with the attitude of certain players who join my parties.

What are for you (community) the essencial rules for fun party adventuring?

Don't say greetings like ten times to each other. Also, warlocks are evil. I can't stress this enough. You should be going after them like drow, but I digress...
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

Pfft, Zel is too well-known now . And, Be responsible when using AOE Spells? Bah ,thats totally OOC, you can be crazy with AOE IC, like Ego does. What i dont like is looting. I wish there was a simple way to simply share loot..

I find that a party willing to take things slow and interact with each other and views that as more important than the dungeon at hand will always be more enjoyable for me.

Once I did something good to encourage the ninja looters to stop doing it. Simply I carry a lot of Strong Traps, and setted it on the chest previously looted by me. So, when I come back with another group, the ninja looters disobeying my advise of: "Watch out of everything, something must explode".
Obviously, I was RPing a Rogue a little mad, and the party don't trust him because "He is crazy".
And then... the ninja looters died and my character was happy and with treasures.

              Indeed Gbx..
*To steak* Yeah I hate those frickin greedy looters...I'd be ok with it if they had the courtesy of telling everyone what they had found or asking if anyone is interested in it. This is anoying especially for casters. That's why i like that roll for magic items thingie these guys did, it should be used for everything.

I have to say though, the party RP I've witnessed has been much improved since awhile ago. It was good to see a bunch of people gathered to go to the Ogre caves and what not. That's exactly what we're trying to do for players.

Unfortunately, while watching them I realized the ogre caves still need to have their encounters redone because they were spawning nilly willy all over the place. Probably hard for a group to actually earn exp with them so scattered. I'll fix that tonight.

Warlocks are evil? Warlocks are evil?
All I do is pinch ladies behinds or wink at them, and speak whatever is on my mind. The first things out of my mouth are 'Whatever, or Oi, cute." Not, "Let's go kill something."
Warlocks....evil? Mate you should see the clerics and almost anyoneelse, now they get nasty. "Let's go kill something" should be your surfacers motto. Warlcks have nothing on the evil the rest of you sprout out. :P
There's a thin line between the definition of genius and insanity; I cross it all the time.

US warlocks are simply misunderstood . And yeah GBX, going to uber high lvl caverns where you risk your life is more fun then the safe little goblin caves of bunnys and happy people skipping.

                          Generally, I like parties that aid in my suspension of disbelief. As long as things are kept in-character, I am a happy bunny even if we get our tails rightfully kicked. Lag, of course, being outside the IC experience, makes me unhappy. >_>;

People that you think are looting too much? I say call them on it IC instead of silently fuming, and the problem should resolve itself. (And I think that the best idea is to have displayed in party chat what items people pick up, especially applying to magic items; the automatic randomizer is a bit hard to explain away, sometimes)

Area-effect spells on party members are fun. ^^ And of course, party members yelling back and making threatening gestures is also part of the fun. And party members refusing to get along and constantly taunting each other is very fun.

Basically, I think parties work best when they are not viewed as an OOC entitlement to treasure, experience and support but a natural IC banding of people that works as the characters themselves would, for good or ill.

As a reminder, a warlock's powers can come from many sources, including fey and genasi. Simply put, warlocks are not all evil.

Here's an article about warlocks as they relate to the Realms: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/frcc/20070328
This is the best signature I could think of.
