That was discussed before. Fey dont just hand it out. Neither do celestials. And i think Saulus meant it from the normal point of view, Warlocks should be seen as "Evil."

I see a lot of smart characters but few ignorrant ones. Where's all the ignorrant people in the world?! This isn't real.
Warlocks? They're always up to stuff with their foul magic, worshipping devils and whatnot... Do I want to be friends with one? Gods no!The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

I don't get where the devil/demon worshiping view comes in, the description of the class says they are born of a supernatural bloodline and calls it an innate power (power your born with) so seems to me other than a certain npc in the single player game most warlocks power wouldn't be coming from making deals or worshiping, maybe a few here or there but mostly they are just tainted bloods like tieflings. Just further down the line than tieflings so they don't get all the other bonuses of having a supernatural ancestor.

I like it when you first meet someone or some people that you stop, greet, and then talk a bit before teaming up. I have not partied with people who just say, lets get together a second after meeting me and also classes I would not party with. I just met an elven warlock and I didn't attack him because he was elven, but I did tell him he was wrong in what he was doing and backed away slowly and then left. He did not have any undead or demons around him, so I didn't attack him out of hand.
And yes, looters are bad, but I usually just ignore it and have fun through the RP. And I agree with GBX, the RP has been better.

Well the ignorant would not neccesarily know of warlocks or where their power comes from. With a world as saturated as Faerun in magic the stupid usually write it off as more crazy mages. Til demons start spewing out of holes in the ground.
As for parties. No ninja looting. I have ninjad myself so i know it annoys people. I usually wait til every enemy in an area is dead and then just try to check out every X amount of loot. X being people in the party. If there's 5 I'll check every 5th loot, and then any loot left behind.Jaggath Tharn, Better Than Sex.

I have not done a party adventure yet on Sundren, though I have on NWN1 servers.
One thing that's often really tricky is splitting up treasure IC, in a reasonable amount of time. I've noticed it's especially tough when all the participants are polite and self-deprecating, so that, 20 minutes later, there is still a pile of loot on the ground with everyone agonizing over who gets what.
Is OOC treasure division a reasonable solution? Has this issue come up here? This is the best signature I could think of.

Think medieval folks; clergy get their spells from the Gods, Druids from nature, Wizards from their books and warlocks obviously from some evil source. Their spells are dark and dangerous looking, offensive in nature and they dress nasty; hence they are evil to the medieval mindset.
Don't bother discussing the weave, or magic saturation of the world to folks, cause they'll just go with what they see. As a follower of Helm I warn others that I will not use my Gods powers on the un-deserving, and warlocks, drow and cannibals all fall into that category.
When I play my characters I go by what 'they' would see and hear, not what 'I' know. Otherwise I consider myself metagaming. If I'm not a magic using character I dislike and distrust unknown magic users as they use forces of power that I can't understand. As a cleric, I follow a code of conduct that I believe my church would agree upon. If suddenly I'm told that Helm wants all warlocks dead, then I would attack them without mercy (as I do the Banites and Drow). Those folks would have to talk pretty fast to convince me not to attack on sight.
As to loot; I've seen systems that auto divided all loot in the group, gold is evenly divided and minor loot too, treasure items are done by either a random draw or a voted draw. Presently I've been in 4 person parties and seen all the loot go to one character in the group each draw...thats part of the 'random number' generator used by NWN, which I firmly believe isn't random (but I digress). Good players will usually notice that they are getting the lions share and hand out items to their party members, evil ones won't, and hence they will sometimes have problems finding folks to party with them once they get a reputation.----------------------

I most of the time loot ased on what I am in the party. If im leading itand got it togeather, usually will loot the most. If im not leader i just hang back, and check the stuff after someone else looked at it. Like Tamara is the leader of the order Tes is in, so no mater where they go, Tes doesent touch a thing til someones looked in the bags.
As for warlocks, i didnt think their magic was to well known. I think its really based on your characters backround. I know sometimes to identify it, ive allways rolled a lore and spellcraft check, to notice its not like other mages spells ^.^Sacrifice everything as the final darkness falls... in the end, all that awaits you is death. Only then will you understand - you've been following in my footsteps all along.
So come then, you heroes! Come in all your power and glory! For in the final hour, all must serve the one... true... king.

This is because a) spellcraft is apparently usable untrained, and b) the ability is based on spell level, and warlock invocations have a hideously low spell level.
Personally, I think that invocations ought to be Spellcraft DC20 base to identify, +1 for each effective spell level. Therefore, Average Joe Commoner would never ever identify a warlock unless he was smart and/or had studied magic.Adama who was once called Adama Hrakness, sacred paw of Mielikki
Lihana Farrier, Paladin of Torm and noble dalliance
On Hold: Alandriel Ward, Actually a Vampire Groupie
Retired for Good: Tamryn Jorandur, Hano's Wife and Conflicted Soul

I'm not saying that I'd attack another PC on sight if I found out that they were a warlock, I just wouldn't use my God givens abilities to heal them. If they were hurt and hadn't been proven evil (by their actions) I'd use healing kits on them, but if they were ignoramous's or obviously demon infected then my character wouldn't help them, and would most likely either ask them to leave or in some cases attack them. Lallendos has it pretty much correctly; spell users/adventurers know what other adventurers specialties are; its pretty obvious to them. As long as the game is 'Class/level' based it will be really obvious to other folks what your character is/does unless your really clever (I played a Banite Cleric on a server, and never cast spells when others were around unless they were Banites, I just told folks that a priest had cast the spell on me if they asked).
In terms of groups I usually tell folks up front if I am not going to use clerical abilities on them, some get miffed, some confused and some just leave. In terms of loot and such, if a person is greedy, then I usually will PM them and ask whats going on...if they are jerks about it I'll find an IC reason to leave them and then go. The greatest thing about online gaming is you can just leave someone you don't like and 'walk' away.----------------------
