Eh >_> I do not see much, possibly because I am not on as much anymore but when I am on I tend to be left to my own devices.
Dunno, it might be because I am low levelled and low levels are boring to DM for, or something.
Granted, when I do get into one it tends to be ruined by wizards....~Lyonette L'cyr (Rook)-- Deader than Malaclypse

I've been around for a few DM events, though last time the DM apparently thought it would be great to kill all the players but one immediately and I had to spend 15 mins hanging around while some poor soul got my corpse to the temple. That was probably a one off or something though.Sammael Redstone - Country-raised sorceror, knows his drink

It seems the people who are voting that they don't get much DM attention aren't posting what timezone they are in or when they play... guess it doesn't matter much to them that they don't get any DM attention.
Wonder why they bothered voting...The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

EST - but my work schedule sometimes puts me past that time zone, almost to the point where I can only seriously play every other day.
I see DM events all the time but sometimes I notice that where DM character tend to populate are in places I really as a character have no business in or interest. Plus, if I hear a shout that makes sense for me to go I'll go if i'm not in serious RP mode...but a murder in the bath house when I'm in the middle of the wilderness with other players...heh, word doesn't spread that quickly to reach us.
When I do happen to stumble upon a DM event, I do enjoy it very much.
I really wish there was a DM on and about when I encountered the 3 trolls and the gnoll chief fighting...I talked to the chief but he wasn't listening (obviously). As it stems back to the one time I was able to talk to him back when Hadavi was about.Father Perry - "...great, not only do rats carry disease but apparently they explode into a fiery ball of flame.?"

Having attempted negotiation with the Gnoll chief(s) on three seperate occasions, I'd like to say that it probably wouldn't have ended much differentlyOriginally posted by ipsissimus View PostI really wish there was a DM on and about when I encountered the 3 trolls and the gnoll chief fighting...I talked to the chief but he wasn't listening (obviously). As for DM coverage, I'm currently in GMT... there usually seem to be DMs on, and with the recent addition of more in that timezone I imagine coverage will improve (though I haven't really been on much since they joined the team).

I play on gmt +2 . What Ive seen in my first day in this server is admirable. Encountered 2 times when gm was "present", first one was when me and few other where in gobling cave (gm was kinda narrator) and second time was in some camp as a guard and started conversation.
I must say, if this is the result of being 2 - 3 hours in the game is this. WOW, I mean really finally some active server whit nice amount of people and active dm:s.

I voted for number 2 for Hlaine personally. I think he receives just enough but not too much attention. He sees a DM about once a day, sometimes more depending on what's going on.
My concern however... is that DM coverage has become a rather one-sided affair. Certain people receive enormous amounts of attention while others actively seek it and rarely find it.
GBX mentioned that DMs look for people who RP well so they can join in... however this breeds a vicious cycle where people see certain people getting all the attention (who are high level incidently), therefore they believe they must grind away to get to that point as well. DMs on the other hand do not want to RP with grinders, therefore the cycle continues, people want to get DM attention by leveling, DMs ignore them because they're grinding and not RPing.
This also breeds a "me too" effect as well. Certain people who receive alot of DM attention begin to attract those looking for RP. This is because people know that said person is often frequented by a DM and therefore their character attempts to rub off that character to get some good RP. This means that certain people become the focal point for the server where the rest of the server is left to loiter around by themselves or grind/farm.
The DMs are great, don't get me wrong. Events are fun and the factions being built are well thought out. However, I believe more focus needs to shift back to those new to the server or lower levels to get them more active. Right now, it's a select few who receive tons of attention, while the rest of the server is roaming around trying to find decent RP and only running into grinders attempting to get where the others are.
I don't mean any offense or complaint. I personally like I said, receive just enough but not too much attention. But, this is an observation from someone who's played the same character day in and day out for quite some time now.Hlaine Eren Myr - Eternally arguing with his sadistic cat.
Patience Allows - Roaming the country-side kickin' jimmys and harassing freaks.

If DM's focus on 'incidently' higher levels most of the time and have flocks of lower levels swarming them that doesn't make any sense to initiate a quest for the said group.
The power player skews the overall balance of what a DM can go too in a quest.
If there are DM's focusing on 'good RPers' they seem to be biased I think. If they focused more on the lower new RPers that might encourage them to more good RP etiquette and a better experience for everyone.
Remeber people that if you set an example, people can follow.
So I think if we give better examples for the 'RP inferior group' then that'll help keep everyone happy.

Most of my plots are generated in areas with more than average amounts of people, so as many people as possible can get involved. These areas tend to be Crossroads, Jimmy's or Exigo Trading Camp, simply because there's more people most of the time.
I think that most people miss out on events at low levels because they're often out killing things to get them past the horrific newbie levels, whereas the people who hang out in the RP areas have done a fair bit of grinding and would rather socialise and do character development.
I try to do plots in the Sharahan Hills or Mossclaw Meet, but you can only make a goblin beg for his life so many times!
Point is, if you want to get more roleplay experience, hang out with other people. Get involved.

I'll tell you like it is: as a DM, I focused on people who could type well, carry an intelligent conversation with other players (which meant they'd be able to with my NPCs), and were interesting. Let's face it: not every character is interesting, either because the player is unimaginitive, or not really trying. I didn't bother with people like that, unless they did something interesting enough to catch my attention.
However, I am no longer a DM, so none of you have to worry about me telling you your character sucks from a position of 'authority'. I'll just tell you as one player to another.
Active
Reinamar Stormseeker - The bladestorm that must turn back the wind. Arkerym of The People, practitioner of the forgotten art, pariah.
Tyler Penleigh - Obligatory author insert, Red Blade Defender, sarcastic jerk, caring brother, loving fiancé, war criminal.
Retired/Dead
Eirimil Gaelazair (Dead)- Bitter. Caustic. Abrasive. Egocentric. Probably right. Found dead in the burned-out Viridale forest a few weeks after the survivors were able to sweep the area after the Bloodmaim offensive. Aside from his usual attire, an intricate music box was the only thing in his possession.

And as one of those former focal points, I honestly agree with every single one of these points.Originally posted by Brenil View PostI voted for number 2 for Hlaine personally.
