A grizzly is one of the scariest, most powerful land animals around. We are talking roughly 700 pounds of pure muscle, teeth, and claws. The largest ever recorded weighed in at over 2000 POUNDS!!!! Few other creatures screw with grizzlies (or polar bears for that matter). Even experienced hunters have been killed by them on occassion.

Now add roughly another hundred pounds or so to that, bigass spike protrusions along their back, and an even MORE agressive nature.

The only way you could possibly make em scarier is if they were armed with a flamethrower and could spit acid.

In my personal opinion, I think D&D should have made bears and dire bears way stronger than they are. This is such a minor complaint of mine though, that I would not make a big stink over it.

everytime i walk through viridale and see two bodies next to the dire bear spawn .... it never gets old.

I lost respect for grizzly bears when they dressed up in ranger hats and warned me about forest fires when I live in New York City.
