  • XP Rate and XP Modifier

So, you all took a vote on how long you think it should take to get to level 20. After consideration we decided 5 months is the general census. So, we compiled this into our experience plugin.

    XP System Rate

Your experience rate is the % of experience you get for killing a creature. 100% is normal, 200% is double experience, 0% is none.

    XP Compared To Curve

This is what determines your rate. The more experience above the curve you have, the lower your rate will be. The lower your experience is below the curve, the higher your rate will be.

    What is this XP Curve?

Basically the engine determines how close to 5 months you are to level and figures out how much experience you -should- have. For example, a one month old character should have 1/5th the experience needed for level 20. If you wind up with more experience than you should have, you get a lower rate until it hits 0. If you have less experience than this rate, you will get BONUS experience. People who sit on their arse for 5 months, for example, will have 200% experience gain every kill no matter what

How do I check my rate?

The OOC tool that everyone recieves has the option to check your rates and how you compare to the curve. Higher number is less XP per kill. Less than 0 is bonus exp per kill.

            I would believe so. However...

Would DM xp rewards be altered by this too?

This is beyond anything I could have dreamed of. It keeps power-levers down but keeps stragglers up. Kudos!

DM xp rewards ignore the rate. The rate is for killing creatures only.

However, since DM rewards adds to your total exp, it affects the rate, but it is not subject to it.

Ok. Noting now how dangerous the caves are in Aquor. Even with a group of 5, we were wiped out. Three of us are on par with the monster level there, and I've lost a total of 4k experience or more today.

That's not a complaint. But here is the question: Will I catch up with my experience curve if I am not logged in on Perigo? I feel discouraged from playing, because with a 16k curve, there's no way I'll get that experience back any time soon. Even with some of the most generous DMs online. Furthermore, if I'm not mistaken, experience given by DMs, though not effected by the curve, contribute to it.

Just making sure I am understanding...The curve is based on ONTIME game time? 5 months...like if I start my character today (March 11th) that means by August 11th I should be 20th? Or...5 months of game play???

                              Thanks...I like the system.
