Druids
Animal companions - the NWN1 panther looked awesome, the NWN2 panther looks like someone's petting a cat's rear and the eyes are totally bugged out.
They could have at least given you two different shades of animal companion to choose from. Grey wolf/slightly white wolf, brown bear/black bear, boar/browner boar, spider/brown spider, badger/beaver, etc. More animal companion choices. I didn't even think spider was a possible choice in 3.5 or previous without a PrC. Even a NWN only feat i.e. imp animal companion where you can get a dire version of your animal companion at the cost of a slower progression would have been nice.
They have Exalted animal companion as a feat, having a celestial or magical beast as an animal companion earlier would be pretty grand. Of course the skin would have too look different, or at least have something magical about it. glowing eyes, an elemental effect about it like the gensai etc.
Elemental companion, also a feat that could be taken...were you lose your affinity with animals and gain a closer relationship with the elements. A small elemental using the normal animal companion progression. (of course buffing them would be problematic but for the purposes of RP who cares)
...quest perhaps if it even possible to implement.
Wildshape - the inability to have access to the smaller wildshape forms dissapoints me. Granted we're limited to a few forms which only evolve into dire forms...some being less favorable but whatever. I'd like to be able to scout an area as a wolf or badger sometimes but at high level, you can't because a large or huge dire animal will definitely draw attention to yourself plus I hate saying "psst, i'm really a regular wolf not a dire wolf so don't mind me" when I RP because there's no sigh above my character when new people enter an area.
New forms, rabbit, deer, ferret, pig, horse, whatever other mundane animals are in the tool set...even rooster or chicken. I've seen those run amuck and breath fire. (smirks) Why can I have a panther animal companion but cannot wildshape into on? Same as goes for the spider.
Even if having to burn a feat to gain access to more wildshapes would be worth it.
Also the inability to use certain abilities during wildshape like Knockdown as well as some normal abilities that the forms gets can't be accessed. Some feats do work but it's because it appears int he mode bar but the quick slots.
(i'm not going to even touch Dragon wildshape because it's something beyond epic this is realistic)
Summon Monster/Summon Nature's Ally - pretty much says it all. They are both comperable to each other as a spell but Summon Nature's Alley was slightly better until 9th level. imo SNA should be the animal summons and some minor elemental ones, eventually getting into the dire summons and the huge/elder elementals ones. Why would a druid summon a shadow mastiff? Sure it gets a nifty surprise ability but it's backfired before. Give the outsiders and magical beasts to the arcane and cleric casters, slightly weaker but with different abilities. i.e. I miss the hell hound and infernal/celetisal summons which know have turned into planar ally. How about a medium or large elemental inplace of the shadow mastiff for druids? Just to keep with the theme.
Animal Empathy/Wild Empathy - it would be nice to be able to calm a wild animal so it remains neutral to you. Even if this would require a diplomacy roll + your druid/ranger level and Cha mod would be great. I don't like killing the dire animals when I walk through the Viradale but sometimes I'm left with no choice. Sure I can run but sometimes they track you to the transition spot only to spring upon an unsuspecting traveller who was not prepared to fight a dire boar. imo I also feel I shouldn't have to mem all types of spells to hold, control, or trap them long enough for me to make a hasty escape.
I noticed Animal (0) in the reputation list, is this something I can look forward to?
Spells (druid) - what happened to: Calm animals, Faerie Fire, Longstrider (minor boost to movement even an additional 10% but does not stack with any other movement buff and/or haste, i know we get outdoor movement already), Shillelagh, chill/heat metal, windwall, rusting grasp (can just be a enchantment that causes a metal weapon to become inaffective for a short duration or deal much less damage), Wall of thorns. Nothing crazy, just think it would be a good addition without making the spell list overpowered. There's tons more spells but this is just from the PHB and I think that's all you really need to draw from.
That's is for now...hope I made some valid points as well as sparked some ideas.
