There's the terrible spectre of work hanging over me, does that count?

Back in the UK for a few months now, that means crazy ass work pressures chowing down on my time, the only occasion I've had to power up my laptop in the past week and a bit was to buy a book and that's still sat in its packaging materials!

The next couple of weeks could go either way, blessing me with loads of hours to do stuff, or trapping me down route dealing with the consequences of a large scale staff strike. Should find out which way it'll go in a couple of days.

      Where's Doubt?

Currently up to my eyeballs in work. Last week was my yearly reccurent training where I got to spend a nice week in a hotel in the arse end of nowhere with no laptop, bucket loads of revision and exams. Not so good times.

Fortunately that's over for another year, just down in Rome for a few days to unwind and go check out the history of monsters.

My roster til the end of the month is one of horror, with many deep night finishes that I'm sorry to say will probably keep me off the client until next month.

However, it's not all bad news! While work will keep me from playing it won't stop me from being able to do toolset work, on late duties I can normally squeeze in a couple of hours most days to get stuff done! I am going to be concentrating on finalising open work and getting things live rather than starting new projects though!

        Suckage.

OK, I think it's time to be honest with myself and everyone else - I'm on a proper break.

I've been heavily distracted over the past few months due to work commitments and my upcoming marriage (33ish days to go!), this has been extra complicated in the last few weeks or so by a surprise health issue (either that or my local hospital has decided to carve parts of me off in order to grow an army of utterly awesome clones. Mustachioed clones.)

I'm not quitting though, just taking a break. Once the marriage, honeymoon and 'is it / isn't it' game with il medico is done then I'll be back, hopefully refreshed and ready to lay down brutal murder. Til then, well, I'll see you when I see you.

Peace out Sundren. I love the lot of you, even those I hate.

Upcoming marriage? Congratulations! Wishing you and your fiancé all the best.

          See you whenever you're willing.
But please, keep one thing in mind for me. What have you become when even nightmares fear you?

              Awesome!

Turns out radiation does give you super-powers!

As to the vaguely mentioned is it / isn't it debacle with my Dr, it turns out 'It is'!

In the spirit of Wolverine some of my awesome skin pigmentation cells have taken it upon themselves to mutate slightly and begin replicating themselves in order to turn me into a super healthy awesomenaut with meaty sideburns and a set of extreme cutlery betwixt the knuckles.

Apparently I need to go into hospital at some point in the soonish-o-sphere, I guess that's so they can coat my bones with adamantine fix me up with a strange ass hairstyle.

I think that's the intention anyway, honestly I zoned out a little bit after the doc mentioned cells and mutations, but so long as they don't mess up the 'tache I'll be OK with it.

Fairly obviously I'll be a little extra scarce for the next week, however after that I've got a week or two of sitting around indoors feeling sorry for myself due, I aim to use a large slice of that time Pershing Sundren related projects!

As you may have noticed, after a somewhat long wedding/cancer/pregnancy break I've slunk back in like a dirty stop out.

The reason I've ressurected this thread is purely so I can espouse the awesomeness of Substance Designer! My golly gosh.

Picked up v4 in the Steam Summer Sale and upgraded to v5 a week or so ago, hadn't used it until today! It's frickin awesome!

Procedural madness! It's a whole lot of fun and staggeringly powerful. Also, I should stop buying stuff then leaving it sitting about doing nothing when it could be doing great stuff!

*looks at Substance Designer 4, Bitmap2Material3, Substance Painter, and Fuse sitting in Steam untouched*

Well, damn. Now I feel all unproductive and stuff. . . .

[edit]: apparently I have the Substance Indie Pack. Now my nonproductive feels tangible; think you could finish that "How to make a unimicorm" demo eventually?
