3 weeks! Man, chaotic times are upon us.

Wedding craziness is sucking down almost every spare moment I have, but on the flip side we've nailed down the date, venue, church, priest and catering. In March I should have a lot more time to spare, so hopefully I can actually close out some of the stuff sitting in my DEV to-do pile! And get in game to run some lovely events!

I did manage to grab one day of office time on dev stuff last week, after a quick in game straw poll it was decided that Elven stuff was the order of the day, The work is to early days to actually show but it's the start of an internal elven themed tileset. Ooooh.

Another picture from the archives today, and it's one that those who've had a poke about in my photobucket account might recognise.

Legion armour from a while back (I'd actually forgotten I'd got it so far along, I might have to set aside some time to put this in game in March, especially as I received some supremely helpful things from the uber talented Hellfire a few months back).

And yes, I do have a version with loads of decoration on the breastplate ala Gladiator.

Really appreciate the nod to realistic lorica segmentata, there. Can't wait to see it in game- because unrealistic fantasy armor and weapons really, really make me cringe.

Whoa, don't get ahead of yourself. Doubt is just showing us the male version of the armor.

We all know how much Doubt loves the battle-bikini look...

Kuscotopia is right, what you see there is the male version with its heavy duty goodness and lorica segmentata inspired goodness (there is actually a version somewhere on my hard drive with a full lorica segmentata torso and a much heavier look).

Of course the female version will basically be a nude woman with breasts large enough to guarantee a life time of serious back issues, discression will be assured with three small peices of mostly transparent gauze and the roman armour inspired (to tie it visually to the male version) "Bikinia Segmentata"...*

*may contain a substantial quantity of lie. The female version will be the male version tweaked to fit. No stupid booby/bikini armour.**

              Blimey!

              OK, what a month!

I had plans, so many wonderful plans! I was going to finish the redevelopment of this house, push my running up from 1/2 marathon to full, organise the shit out of my upcoming wedding, spend time with the family and Dev the everliving frick out of Sundren.

Well, part one went well... Finishing the house. But.... *wipes brow* then the dying started.

I forgot the curse on this house, probably something to do with the recently (well, recently when we started doing the house up) disturbed Romans found in the old aqueduct next door (no joke, I currently live next to an archaeological dig complete with bodies!). The first time we started on the house the curse almost killed me when after decorating two three rooms I was struck by a speeding car on a zebra crossing. After a few months we tried again and my fiance suffered a broken foot in a freak hidden hole incident. This time... This time the house got serious.

By the time we had the wallpaper finished on the lounge's feature wall and painting complete in all but one room four people were dead, four long and serious visits to the local Catholic church to pay respects to our departed friends and family.

But the important parts were done, I could concentrate on wedding stuff, the crazy local Bishop has demanded quite a bit from us in order to permit our wedding, so it seems like most evenings have been spent in various churches, he also utterly disbelieves in Atheism so I'm SOL there. After a rather awesome day getting staggering stuffed on amazing food at our planned venue we went to check out the grounds, where the house promptly struck again as my mother in law tripped over the tiniest step ever and broke her femur!

The last week and a bit has pretty much been spent running backwards and forwards between churches, hospitals and all sorts of wonderful intermediate places full of stress and horror.

What little time I've managed to grab for myself has been spent doing things that don't require any thought at all!

So, all in all, sorry if I've been distant, short or unfocused with anyone! It's for good reason I assure you. Normal service will be resumed at some point.

Till then, peace out - I'll do what I can but don't expect to see me splurging huge hours in the client for a little while

Spooky ghosts haunting your home and causing mayhem, you need the Bishop to exorcise your property before you have him marry you. Ghosts don't play around.

Well off to bed, time to have nightmares of ghosts :'( Best of luck Doubt, stay safe!

The Bishop is too crazy to invite around for tea and exorcism.

Here's one of next doors treasure piles as it was last year, before it all got stolen / taken away. You can see one of the three skulls dug out staring spookily toward the camera on the bottom right.

Well, just be thankful the dig hasn't turned out to be some find of the century where the government would have bought your house for pennies on the dollar after all the sweat, internal bleeding, and tears you've put into it!

Or maybe you should just start looking for a new place to live?

Find of the century... This is Rome, around here you've only got to throw a rock and you'll probably hit something Roman. Plus as it's Italy even if it were the find of the century the hilarious bureaucracy would mean that they'd be unable to do anything at all about it for a long long time, if at all. There isn't the funds for the government to be buying up stuff for something as unimportant as archeology.

You've only got to look at the crazy goings on in Pompeii to see that the funds and giving of fucks just aren't really near the top of the Italian list of things to do.

And Saulus, I wish I could find some Roman gold, I'm bloody skint at the moment.

There might be some mapping gold in all this Rome stuff though, managed a stroll earlier today in the local park and got to thinking about maps I'd like to see. While some of them may not be Sundren suitable (try as I might I just can't think of a location for something suitably Venetian) I did get to thinking about the way the ruins are repurposed and reused down the ages (Napoli has some great examples of this). Definitely a lot of room to play with that on one location. Plus more fuel for the 'if I ever win the lottery and start to dev my own games...' fire of dreams...

Otherwise it's back to the ongoing farce that this month seems to have been!
