Personally, I never really have a clue what is going on. Serena was very uninvolved in this whole plot line, from the blight to the cube. I had hoped to do a lot more with the blight, but it just didn't happen. And Serena has no idea what goes on in the grove either. Seriously with several episodes in the grove I just stand there having no idea whats going on because some preceding event happened when I wasn't on, even though Serena should know a lot about what goes on there.

When I can play, there are rarely DMs around running things or plots or events, just vignettes at best, really, like chasing a tiefling out of the Exigo camp. Serena is never going to get past level 15 when the auto xp stops flowing or be able to much involved in anything. I never know when DMs are planning events or quests or whatever.

And as much as I'd like to do more, I just take what I get. You can't be in every event, or maybe even any events. There's no point getting upset about it. You play your part, and as unexpected as it was, someone else got to finish the job. Keep it IC and its a lot less frustrating. If your character feels left out after all they have done, then go vent at the Helmites or whoevers fault it was IC. I probably won't actually learn what happened for another two weeks.

The narrative framework draft is written, and is even now being vetted by other DMs.
        *ahem*

Right. Anyhow, as soon as DM stability concerns are addressed, I'm going to run more events like the Exigo one that have even just a little announcement in advance. However, keep in mind again that right now, it will take me between fifteen and forty-five minutes just to get on the client.

Players need to realize that being a DM/Admin/Dev/Builder/whatever is a very thankless job. When things are going good, events are smooth, the server has no connection problems etc etc most of the time the Staff hears very little from the masses. The occasional person will say "hey good job guys" but for the most part no problems means things are quiet.

When something goes wrong however EVERYONE comes complaining. So it ends up that the staff hears "negativity" as the most frequent feedback. You have to take a step back and realize that these kinds of jobs are usually very thankless jobs but the staff does it because they enjoy it. It is your job as a player to make sure they keep enjoying it or you'll be off to another server cause this one won't exsist. Try to remember that and be respectful.

Well, this unanounced event left us without one progammer and a lot of people unhappy. Again I want to say my point of view about this and other topics:

// Doesn't matters if a new event will come, I don't care, because If this is not spoken now and try to fix this issues NOW, the next event will be the same.

When you are on an online game, you (DM or Player) must try to integrate all the people on the plot when they try to enter.
In my personal experience, I tried in a lot of ways to integrate the Genum Cuble Plot: The Helmites, The Banites, a little RP with Pom and Sehron. and always was a negative or minimal plots to introduce herself but died in the begining.

                First. Plot and game related:

Who looks this event like a spectator see this: "Hano, Hano, Hano, Kathryn, Sehron, Kathryn, Hano, Hano, Kathryn, Sehron, Sehron"
The event seems to round around this three characters and the rest of them are invisible.
I don't know why all DMs in different servers have the trend to do their personal RPing group, leaving the rest of the server behind. But that attitude reachs the players of the RPing group, who doesn't wants anymore than them to participate on the plot. Maybe the rest of the characters are not quite interesting to look at them and considerate an active participation on anything, I don't know.

For being a game when all of us are playing adventurers, the adventurers spends a lot of time on the Exigo Trading Post loitering and using NWN2 like a 3D Chat Room. Im not agree with the fake believing of: More Talk = Quality RP.

                Second. Forum and behavior:

First of all, the Kudos thread it's a way of deliberately arsekissing. But all of you can see what people it's more on that list. Also, that thread it's an useless thread only with the purpose of feed the ego's of the characters listed there. I disagree the Kudos Thread.

Second, the "happy bear" attitude of some people sicks me. Trying to slow down the people when they are arguing with commentaries like "Let's calm down, it's just a game", or another type of commentaries, doesn't helps with the development of the server and the community. All of this threads ends with a [LOCKED] and the same people saying "Thanks for the staff for their work, *kiss kiss kiss ass ass ass*".

Third, Im a little disappointed with the Sean's attitude of leaving Sundren Staff only with a post of cmogre. The staff and players claims to be really mature, but that attitude was like a little kid crying and locking him on the bedroom because he doesn't wants to eat the vegetables.

EDIT: This post was unbecoming, and was typed on the spur of the moment because I was upset. I'm leaving the text here so no one can accuse me of covering up mistakes.

                  Huh. Interesting.

In the time you took to type this post...

You could have gotten your character involved in the actual battle.

It looks like your priorities are biased towards whining, and not towards actually doing anything to fix your situation.

                    Another shitty post, good job!.
That kind of responses generates a little disbelief on the staff priorities also.
I don't know If you see, RIGHT NOW WE CAN'T LOG ON due technical issues.

I don't know why I spend my time writing on the forum trying to make a better community, trying to open some heads about the actual situation.
All I get it's being flamed by the staff.

Would it be an option to just announce the event to the people who had a right to be in it (not saying that I would have been one of those people) ? and maybe if there were any spots left, let a few other people take place too

The songs have absolutely nothing to do with the characters. But they are awesome songs.

Very well, then. I'll do a respectful and point-by-point deconstruction of your post.

                        1. "The Same People Get Events All The Time"

First Off: This is a valid concern. It stems mostly from the fact that most players are content to sit around, docile, usually as mentioned around the Exigo trade post fires. Players that attempt to actively get involved with factions, make their RP presence known and the like, are a lot more likely to get events because they're out there trying to make their own way.

Cure on Our End: Events specifically aimed at underdeveloped factions and new players. Note how I have not yet run a full event for the Temple of the Triumvirate or the Banites, and I'm instead trying to build up a faction that everyone can participate in, at least a little.

Cure on Your End: Show some initiative. When we dangle the opportunity for you to develop your own characters and request your own events, take it. I spent several hours writing up a post designed to evoke and facilitate player RP, even if a player had NEVER EVER BEFORE participated in the Cube event.

                        2. "People Sit Around the Campfire All The Time."

The cure here is entirely on you, the player. Tell everyone you're going somewhere to do something. Even if it's a completely fictitious objective, you'll likely get people who are tired of hanging around the campfire.

                        3. "I Don't Like The Kudos Thread."

Then it's your choice not to participate in it. The Kudos thread only serves to give people thanks for something that the player in question felt was worthy of recognition.

                        4. "The Server Should Have Fewer Technical Problems."

We all agree that it should. However, keep in mind that the amount you are paying as an annual subscription cost is nothing. Keep in mind also that every staffer and DM and builder does so because they love what they do. This goes for server hardware as well, much of which usually comes out of peoples' personal savings.

And most of the technical problems can be traced back to Obsidian, and Neverwinter Nights 2 being shabbily coded. There is even less that can be done on this front. Part of what you accept when playing this game, instead of a paid-for more-stable game, is that there will be downtime and problems.

You all give me a headache and drive me nuts equally.

Everytime I hear a gripe or moan about connecting or crashing I feel like turning the server off to show you what a real connection problem is like.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

It appears Skro is addressing concerns about more than simply this one event. Though some of his post is inflammatory, it would be thoughtful to try and simply listen to the concerns without replying with attacks. Clearly english is a second language and miscommunication is easy, also the post describes a number unrelated issues which makes this appear like a rant.

How bout we try one subject at a time...

                            1. Many are left out due to the star power of some characters.

How does everyone feel about this. I personally feel this is true, but I don't necessarily believe this is wrong. Some people just have a lot more time to be involved, so they get more DM time as a result.

Edit: Raksha did the right thing.

Saulus: At least it wasn't a Death Geas you bastard. *shakes fist*

Though, I'm not going to be particularly elaborate, but joining factions? Increases your involvement and events by a kagillion. Seriously. If you don't believe me? Try this the next time you see a DM on:

"/d Hey, I'm interested in joining the Exigo Sentinels. I'm at the Exigo HQ in Sundren, mind helping me?"

                              Or maybe...

"/d Mind pointing me in the right direction to join the Legionaires?"

RP it out, ask for work, or whatever your whim is ICly.

See where I'm going with this? There are tons of RP factions out there, and yet, nobody actively seeks to join them.

Ask Gamling; Lauan was barely involved with anything for the longest of times. When he decided to join the Thayan Enclave? Bam. Tons of RP and ideas for the DMs to work with.

Edit: This is a in-general suggestion. Not going to touch the Cube event because that's just asking for me to punch someone in the vagina.
