Correct, it seems NWN2 allows other deities to have Stormloads but the Faiths and Pantheons book states you must worship Talos to be one. So Sundren is closer to the PnP version with this decision.

The god of Tyranny is L/E. C/E isn't very tyranically or about controlling.

which is why he was L/E before.

Now he's going to be C/E.

I just need to figure out how not to play him "stupid evil"

I'm actually surprised that in all this discussion of Talos = Lightning, Lightning, Lightning, no one has questioned that on Sundren Talos doesn't have access to the Air Dominion. It should be added to his portfolio, after all he is the god of Lightning and vortex (tornadoes and such).

Stormlords should be open to other Deities as well as Talos, though under a different RP title. Stormlord is only the name that was assigned by the game, but it can be RP'ed under a different context. I mean, my Druid has an unreasonable amount of lightning power, and he follows Shaundakul. He can do 20d6 Lightning damage at a DC of like, almost 40, and has many other lightning-based capabilities. Hell, he can even transform into a walking essence of lightning! Storm Avatar? Energy Immunity: Lightning? Call Lightning? Call Lightning Storm?

So, why can a Druid not take the Stormlord class under a different name, and just RP it as a caster who has specifically focussed under the discipline of lightning. Just as a Fighter specializes in a particular weapon as a Weapon Master, a Druid can specialize in a particular element as a Stormlord.

                  Just call it something else.

                  Karthus the Stormlord is bad.

Karthus the Thunderwalker is uncreative, though reasonable?

I always thought the same thing, I mean seriously if my druid can conjure THAT MUCH lightning is it really that unfeasible to think that he could conjure a little bit of it on the end of his spear (hence forth known as a "LIGHTNING ROD" ). Since I've finally decided on who my main character is going to be, and it's not my druid, it doesn't really affect me anymore, but it is something that always bothered me. I don't see why only Talos can grant me the power to move said lightning to end of lightning rod and hold it there, is that really beyond the realm of powers for say... Akadi? (greater deity of air, i.e. look at the air elementals... they are teeming with lightning.) Just my 2 cents, because if you look at the class abilities I don't really see a reason why it should be Talos only, granted you can argue that the caste of Talosian clergy are called Stormlords, but do you honestly think that out of all the druids throughout all of the land never said "hey, y'know I can light this weapon on fire, why don't I try to use lightning on this one?", but as soon as they do it makes then evil? Sounds fishy to me, I hope at some point the DM's would reconsider it, but if not oh well, they probably wanted it to remain more exclusive so a bunch of people aren't running around with thunder spears or something, not that it stops any other kind, like fire swords *shrugs*

                    Just my opinion.

I think part of the reason Stormlords are limited to Talos is exactly to limit the number of people who play them. If Stormlords were open to everybody, then everybody would make one, throw off the "balance" of characters, and throw off the realistic atmosphere that Sundren is trying to promote. Personally, I don't really care about the uniqueness of Stormlords, but I can understand why the developers would.

They already require DM approval, so it doesn't matter which God your RP under. The number is limited by the approval, not the requirement of Talos.

We like to hope that our Stormlords follow Talos.

Darn. I just made a cleric designed to be a Stormlord, but he worships another spear focused god. No dice then?

You probably are out of luck, but I don't think you should be. Logically, you shouldn't be.
