The difference is between 'evil' and 'thuggery'. Thuggery is the stereotypical evil most present in RPGs, the whole kick a puppy just 'cause you can kind of thing. While the actual mysterious evil is doing its job--being mysterious and evil. I personally feel the best equation would be to lawyers and politicians-- that is the kind of evil that's really out there making a difference, having a polite lunch with you while getting you to sign here here and here to gradually allow negative loopholes into play (pretty much Lawful Evil, the frequently most successful evil according to the alignment descriptions). Not the doom and gloom blackguards sowing hatred and destruction across the land. Which is a problem for the evil people who want to be that. They don't get good treatment from either good events or evil events, because they're too evil to be good and too 'loud' to be evil. (though I'd say Furion is a great example of an 'evil' character who might be able to partake in otherwise 'good' events. He's a bigtime Talos worshipper, making it known as often as he can, and is often fairly rude and bloodthirsty, yet he's still a very honorable fighter that respects strength and cunning, fighting alongside the good guys against the evil denizens of the world. He's my favourite 'outwardly evil' character out there, very much an anti-hero.)

Problem is, the outwardly evil that actually directly and openly opposes good, the 'thuggery/bandit' kind of thing, is very hard to pull off. It does mean pretty much either being alone or in small, unstable groups, unable to participate in a lot of the things other, more neutral or secretive characters might be able to. If you want to find the organized secretive evil groups, it's mostly a 'right place at the right time' and 'don't call us, we'll call you' thing. It can't really be flaunted with loud bells like the good guy events, because that only draws out the good guy zealots with pitchforks and torches.

Unless, of course, evil eventually wins. At which point the loud, doom and gloom blackguards become the enforcers of the law and it becomes next to impossible to play the good guy zealots. Pretty much whichever 'side' is currently in charge is the one that's free to have active, loud characters of their alignment, while the one that is losing has to result to secrecy and thus characters who draw too much attention to themselves of that alignment are ignored.

This is sooo Funny... First off, there are WAY!! too many evil players on the server, and each of you guys are scared to take the initiative to find one another because you run the risk of exposing yourself. Only one faction of evil is organized on this server as far as PC's go, but its not meant for everybody. The good guys, Sundren and The Triumverite and Maybe the Scarlett Lions have only started most everyone in those ranks are new and need to be trained in as a force of good, so they dun become "Good Tyrants" and make everyone else's life miserable. I think Gortek is kinda new to the server and hasn't seen the amount of evil events that have been at play fer awhile now.

Also, Chaotic Stupid is not evil, it is just stupid... If you dun have an army of minions to do your bidding or a staff member trying to help your plight, dun act like your invulnerable or intimidating because your probably not and most other PC's (including some evil ones) will prolly gank you or turn you into the Sundrerers which beleive me, is not a pleasant way to die XD. I personally, have ran a few evil based events as well as gud events, dun try to generalize what the DMs are doing at the moment you have to see or look towards the bigger picture or have faith that we are being fair to both sides of the alignment spectrum when it comes to giving attention to players.

Furthermore, Hans Summers is one the longest lasting and consistent Paladin's on the server, his rep in Sundren is very high so it is natural for him to be charismatic and favored by the people of Sundren. IC-wise he sacrficed alot of himself to help those around him including doing alot things that were detrimental to his character's growth in order to help others. Give some Respect lol!

Where the heck are they? . . . You asked.

Perhaps, the forces of evil are all over the lands of Sundren.

If you are in a hurry, then next time char Gotrek is out of the civilized areas by himself, consider talking all about 'good' and how you no like 'evil' to each char that you meet. Then perhaps, you may see some of the forces of evil.

Or, more subtle RP may turn up the information that you seek.

I have seen evil all over the place. As a chaotic Neutral rogue halfling, most people ignore me anyway, so I see and hear a lot of things. Vampires, Banites, and Talos followers abound!

Exactly keep your eyes open and ears to the ground.. Nobody is going to say or reveal evil unless they want a DM to pwn them after they get Pvp'd for the 1000th time. You have to do it subtlely and be sensitive to those around your character, look at their motives for doing things... like "Why are we going to Mossclaw camp?

Good Reply: "To Stop them from hurting others and pestering the Sundren border guards who are already Short staffed" or something like that.

Evil Reply: "Cause i like tearing up Gnoll children and using their tanned hides for underwear, thats Why!!" *Growls* or something like that.

yeah, the quickest way to get your self killed or perma killed is to run about prancing and screaming your evil and here to kill everything. I have seen it many times, and hell I was one of the carful ones about such things and I just got perma killed.. Not good. But damn did I have a well accomplished career at it.

Just keep that in mind next time your running around sayin "Where are all the evil guys.. I need lovins to!"

Meh. Drauius was one of the careful evil and he got killed. Your life lesson? Don't be careful evil, be recklessly evil!

Nyways, Xiantum, Salisse mentioned something about the helmites falling while we were alone, after Gotrek complained. But he sorta ignored that! You just gotta pick up on the little little hints.

Also, declaring your evilness openly is very stupid unless your really protected. And even when you have huge protection, your still going to die if you make a reckless move ^^

Drauius ended up dead partially because he ran. If you're evil, but innocent of a crime, and you run, it's bad, because it makes people think you have something to hide. If you come peacefully when someone wants to ask you questions, instead of acting all tough as nails or flee-ready, then you may live a lot longer.

Also if you're going to run, you should actually run instead of hanging around the periphery of an area - I know I wasn't going to have Ember chase Drauius after he fled, but then he came right back.

Not making good on one's escape is always a bad idea.

Evil people need to be careful, but I don't think they need to be organized or methodical - that's lawful evil. Chaotic evil can survive just fine if it's done properly (Properly isn't a tiefling warlock screeching about killing people XD)

CE can be in groups too, IMO... Chaotic doesnt have to mean "Omg im going to rebel and not join a group for a cause."
