I typically play a bard or a rogue, but haven't had the time to roll up a second character I want to play yet (my first was a monk, since its the easiest class to try out as new server - no equipment). I might give that a go, if one of the other classes doesn't appeal.
By the way, does anyone know if invisible blade bleed attack stacks with sneak damage? I didn't bother trying to figure it out in MOTB due to the damage resistance of every enemy making the bleed attack useless.

Sneak attack and bleed are two different things, they both work at the same time. The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

Would have gone Invisible Blade (all 5 levels
), but I didn't know the requirements when I made my current character. And making a new character just to do that would be stupid for me, seeing that my current is already a Rogueish character, and I have invested so much time already.

Oh, please don't think I'm asking for what the 'best build' is. I'm very much looking for a character I can identify with and roleplay well. Yet, that's part of the problem. I've been thinking hard on what races and classes I could relate well with, but it's been quite a fustrating affair, since my favorite race is one that's restricted; so I must look for something else.
As for the classes... I've always had difficulty managing which one I enjoyed playing. I think on a whole, I always enjoyed spellcasting in this game in one form or another. So, that's where the wizard idea comes from (my first play through the OC was a drow wizard, I loved him so much). Yet, I also enjoy the concept of military themed characters, which is where the Fighter/soldier and/or Battlemage come into play.
The Cleric idea is one I'm not really big on, unless it's a unique type, which in Sundren is difficult to do outside law and order types, which in my mind is quite boring (thus why Paladins are out of the question).
After toying with a build, I think I may of found one that could be enjoyable, but I'll have to wait and see if that'll meet DM approval.
I appreciate the help from everyone. This has been a very enlightening thread so far for me.

Well, if your favourite race is restricted (I.E. Closed) Then play your second favourite. If it is not closed, then apply!~Lyonette L'cyr (Rook)-- Deader than Malaclypse
~Megandlla Uyth 'Llar -- In a land Far Far away!
~Emilee Mistwalker -- A Female Sigrun? Pfft, far cooler--.... eh.... Hated!!

Well, once I get MoTB I will be making my rogue! I might take him down the path of the bard/rogue! But, give me until Monday. That is when I can buy MoTB. And I will be back!
Yarr!
?And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it.?

Yeah, except I don't have a second favorite.Originally posted by nutranurse View PostWell, if your favourite race is restricted (I.E. Closed) Then play your second favourite. If it is not closed, then apply!
By the way on the nature of the Sorcerer/EK which I didn't respond to earlier. I'm still on the fence as to how that's really useful. I mean, you'd be feat/skill starved, wouldn't you think? Ontop of that, since you're medicore in strength and charisma and presumably pretty poor in every other stat, that kind of makes you vunerable to spell resists and mage combat, as well.
That's where the Sorcerer/EK build falls flat for me. In terms of damage potential in good conditions, I can definately see that. Yet, it seems to me the wizard/fighter/EK is far more reliable in all the above terms and most importantly can change on the fly to adapt to the situation. Not to mention they aren't as on the fence with feats and have access to far more skills.
Yet, my biggest problem with EK builds in general (including the Wizard one), is that it means you have to sacifrice either armour for spell ability or spell ability for armour; not to mention the RP complications to constantly switching armour in a hostile enviroment. Still spell is difficult to get in earlier levels (and not that useful then either) along side the more melee orientated feats, therefore while at level 20 it's very powerful, the road getting there is quite bumpy indeed.
I think that's my biggest problem as a whole with the more convulated builds that people come up with. At level 20 they're great, but before then, it's Hell. I think that's why keeping things simple might usually be the better (and safer) choice when focusing on roleplaying.
That's of course just my opinion anyway.Hlaine Eren Myr - Eternally arguing with his sadistic cat.

Doubtful unless you were using improved expertise, don't forget we've modified how some of the buffs work so you can't stack them so ridiculously high now.The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

How though?
They get the same spells as a wizard, less infact. Sorcerers don't get any benefits through skills or extra feats. Only thing I know of that Sorcerers get an advanage in is when they multi-class with Paladins or Blackguards and get fantastic Cha-based saves.Hlaine Eren Myr - Eternally arguing with his sadistic cat.

That only makes them less versatile, but hardly weaker than a wizard. Considering that you don't need to memorize spells in advance and the additional spells to cast per rest period, sorcerors are pretty powerful.Originally posted by Brenil View PostHow though?
