A scythe does have two damage dice (2d4 instead of 1d8), so the damage results are biased towards the middle range and are more reliable. It also averages half a point higher per hit than the longsword-type weapons. As far as averaged damage over a lot of hits goes, when you even out the huge criticals with the inferior base damage, it's about like a greatsword; it's only when the Weapon Master can turn it into OMG SCYTHE OF DOOM that it pulls ahead. This advantage is instantly lost when facing the undead.

    *cuddles greatsword*

I'd throw in a vote for the warmace. No one loves it, because its damage die is horrible in comparison to other twohanders, and its critical range is also. The warhamer is, in general, better thanks to that juicy x3 critical modifier, and it's onehanded. Halberd's in a similar boat, though not quite so much.

And yes. Darts are TEH AWESOME. Especially since Enlarge spells apply the extra magical damage to thrown weapons...

Bastard swords are little used I think. They are an "in between" weapon so most people go for longswords or greatswords instead. They also require a a feat which if people take it, they usually go for katanas instead.

Katana.... urgh... now dont get me wrong, a fine fine fine sword, but what the hells is it doing floating around the nwn Realms in such numbers? It should be rare as hens teeth.

          More clubs, less katana... word.

Katana is exotic, by it's nature it is rare. I've seen a great number of players. I have to say these weapons are rarely used if you're thinking of a new character:

            Morningstar
            Flail
            Club (Yup!)
            Kukri
            Sling

            I May update that list

With the new prestige classes of MOTB, some weapons like darts and daggers will become VERY used.

The Invisible blade can deal hemoragic strikes when using daggers or kukris and can use a special feint move.

The Stormlord can imbue any darts/thowing axes/shuriken with electric and sonic damages. Moreover, those weapons are automatically enhanced when thrown by the stormlord (+1, +2, +3 depending on the stormlord level). Some peoples on the bioware forum reported that they killed dragons with a few shurikens thanks to that class.

Man! I personally think that the SPEAR is an underused weapon.

Really? Well.... They are doing it wrong !
:O I personally am in the process of making a 'Lancer' (I.E. Weapon Master w/ the Spear) Who follows Hoar!

And as for another weapon I think is underused (other than words >_>). I would also have to say that the Flail is underused, the Quarterstaff is not used properly and shurikens! I mean.... In the campaign I could kill just about anything with a shuriken

I was going to say shurukens however you spell it! I was thinking of making some kind of halfling ninja though hahah just to put them in use. But seriously who uses that when you got darts! It's useless! Unless RPed otherwise.

I think halberds are not really used. And with the the Stormlord PrC in MotB we will see for sure more Spear Druids running around and none using halberds

Imagine a Weaponmaster(Spear)Druid/Stormlord guy... hmmm might try that actually

Warahammers are underutilized but that I believe that is mostly because there is no variety.

Unfortunately even great servers like this seem to have the same problem that plagues others. Yoy can get a sword with most any bonus (usually up to +3) and with any special ability like fire, acid, electricity, et. al., damage, but the same variety is presently absent regarding warhammers.

If this could be changed that would be fantastic. I know the characters with warhammers as part of their character's theme, and likely dwarves, would greately appreciate it.

best way to make unused items useful.

Give them fancy enchantments and put them in game! Then everyone'll start using those. Worked with the muckspear, lol.
