Joining factions will be part of the Quest system. It also ties in with our factional reputations.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

I remember months back a 'holy-moly' player friend of mine joined the Sundren militia in-game, via a DM played event. (before the 'big-trial'.)
Myself I'm itching to found a new one, or join an existing one (even though Valen doesn't really 'fit' in anything currently.)
I loved that Trial XD I was having fun DMing the Cocky Lawyer.

              Here's a question for you.

What keeps assassins and powerful insidious figures from targeting the known, named Harbinger Saulus? Even such a powerful figure could be felled by proper poisonings or sedatives, or a vicious cabal of empowered fanatics (ala the Banites), who would likely seek to extract the remaining Harbinger's names and locations from him.

How good are the terms on which the Triumvirate and Helmites deal with each other? Do they get along? Do they want the same things? Do the Tormites and Helmites end up maiming things when they play against each other in Spoons?

Saulus is literally the incarnation of the arbiter's fury. As the Harbinger of Wrath, he serves a very militaristic role and like one would expect from a general of his importance, is under constant guard. Attempting to attack him would fail miserably, as would any attempt at capture or poisoning. Such a feat would need to be of miraculous execution to succeed.

1.) How does the general population of Sundren (entire valley) view the Red Wizards?

2.) How knowledgable is the population on the Red Wizards' past?

3.) Is it possible to post what players should generally know about the group?

What is the IC time gap from travelling via World Map? (Ie what is the distance to time ratio that should be RPd when travelling via World Map)

Rough estimation is 8 hours to a day or two at the very most; depending on where you start and your final location, including speed of travel, method of travel, etc.

Sundren is known to the rest of the realms. It's not unlikely that stories of valor, economic articles and even state history would be in print and available to those outside of the valley.

1). The majority of the populace probably wouldn't enjoy the presence of Red Wizards. They would be especially disliked by rival wizard factions such as the Hands of Mundus. It's not far fetched to believe that just any religious organization in the city would dislike them either. The only people who would probably approve of them would be the actual government, as they represent an economic boost. Perhaps, the leaders of the Exigo, such as Ramas Sepret might enjoy the presence of the Red Wizards, but the Thayan born members of the syndicate would probably be untrusting of them.

2). The general population, which is represented by commoners and generally uneducated folk probably wouldn't know much about the Red Wizards. I would say they'd be aware of just enough to be scared or hateful.

3). A player's access to information related to Red Wizards really represents the threshold here. I would say any adventurer would probably be aware of the Red Wizard's as an organization, but without extensive research, it's difficult to believe any would-be-hero would know much about them unless they themselves were arcane-oriented spell casters.
