I checked on Monday and still an issue with Rep for all my toons.

I've been logging in daily to check rep... Today was the first time I had all of my rep points. This is a good sign... perhaps it's karma.

Just wanted to let you guys know.. I've been absent more than usual lately. It has nothing to do with the rep system being jacked. I've had a lot going on at work that has kept me really busy, its summer and the farm needs my attention and I'm on vacation all of next week.. I'll be back and hopefully I can continue the RP I've had with you wonderful people where we left off.

As the rep sounds like it returns then truly the data is not lost, but obviously queries are not returning as they should... and short of SQL errors (Which I don't have), our 'thinking' is that they are not responding fast enough due to other things in the database bogging down.

Actually I have seen loss (permanent?) in rep when the system is up (for all but but one of my toons). I sent Hades the info.

Works for me. And with all the complaining it is still the best system I have found.

GBX was waaay awsome, his toons that added plots and rp for everyone to figure out was way cool.

He also plays a mean "ninja - baby sitter"!

I talked to GBX about this as ultimately he is better on code and I am better in infrastructure. Some of these systems weren't designed to run forever without some kind of pruning so I've started by cleaning out some data from the database.

TO that end, I've done some pruning which I hope will have an affect on this, if not I will have to look into some other things.

Rest assured as long as people are still playing and there is still a community we will strive to make sure everything is working -- but a little extra help from the community also is sometimes required if there's something you want to see fixed/changed (learning the toolset isn't so bad, working around its bugs... ehhhh).

Side note, but more relevant, Can we confirm every Monday is OK? I will for sure try this next Monday. Because if it is good on Mondays that the staff has a lead. Are backups run on Monday? If so is that a full, a differential, etc? Is there a SQL stored procedure that runs on all days but Monday? ...

As far as I know, rep wipes happen every reset. So if it hasn't affected you, it probably won't. It may very well be only affecting faction toons.

Verity is a factionless toon, and has a small amount of rep in various factions. I've never run into this issue before, but then again I really only hang out by the camp fire. How common is it? Maybe I can try to replicate it.
