To be permed in that way you were either silly enough to go grinding with 30 or less vitality, or silly enough to keep running out after letting that happen twice.

          I support this new system.

Sounds awesome! I do have one, tiny suggestion: Factor vitality off of CON, or perhaps adjust the weakening effects based on CON. Example: +/- 10 Vitality points based on CON modifier, or being able to ignore the weakening effects longer, based on CON.

Though to be fair, I haven't played Sundren with the new system in place. Basically I'm talking out of my ass right now.

So the more survivability you have, the less you get punted when you die? Nah, the vitality thing is perfect as long as players don't get permed for stupid reason like getting grief-killed while going AFK without pressing the AFK button.
This won't happen though I'm sure, as Sundren's actually quite friendly.
I hope subdual and capturing will be used a lot more in the future, as that is usually more fun for everyone!

                            I approve a thousand times.

TO THOSE PLACES I CAN ACTUALLY GAIN SOME XP BEFORE DYING.

ALSO, TO KILLING OTHER PLAYERS WITHOUT FEELING HORRIBLY GUILTY FOR IT.

                            CHAAAAAAARGE.
Running across the mountains, attacking with an oversized scalpel, cometh Helga Great-Wyrm! And she gives a mighty bellow:
"Brace yourself, oh human speck of dust! You are made of meat and I am very hungry!"

I have a question: Will characters who are currently dead take the vitality penalty upon implimentation, or will they be raised afterwards without the XP penalty?

Just wondering how the transition is going to work.
