Also, very good changes overall, I like seeing more exploitable weaknesses on vampires, as well as the changes made to spells and spell like abilities (Detect evil on paladins being clarified as an ability TO BE SPAMMED, also awesome.)Aesa Volsung - Uthgardt Warrior

I'd like some feedback from players on something.
Reading the aura stuff more, you're supposed to CONCENTRATE on an area while the spell is active in order for it to work. Essentially not doing anything else.
Also, I can optimize the results of the script if all the auras are checked at once.
So what I was thinking is you activate the spell, then you use an ability "Concentrate" in order to focus on the area for a round, that way people aren't doing other stuff like fighting and crap and they have to proactively search instead of passively.
So essentially you'd do something like activate detect good/detect undead/detect evil, etc, and then while it's active walk around and concentrate as you see fit.
Thoughts?
I may also add other detect spells to our ensemble:
Detect Secret Doors (I made a secret door system, need to fix goblins and another place to switch to it).
Detect Law
Detect Chaos
Detect Scrying

I really want to just remove sending all together in truth. The ganking is the only reason. I never minded people communicating with it others, but people use it for quasi-metagaming where players are in conflict and it's a hassle.
When people use tells, it's really obvious when people are responding based on tells.
I don't mind people responding to "HELP! EVIL HERE!" but doing it instantly is horribad.

We could just make it a simple offense to use Sending to contact others for instant help. Or enforce server travel time considerations. I think the only reason people show up so soon from Sendings is that we haven't necessarily told them it's a bad thing to do.The poetry that comes from the squaring off between;
and the circling is worth it, finding beauty in the dissonance.

Great idea on the concentrate feat/ability button. Much easier and cleaner than popping up additional UI's all over the screen
As for sending.. I'm strongly in favor of keeping it in the game, modified or with stricter rules or whatever. It's the single most useful RP focused non-combat spell in the game at present and I would have missed out on a lot of RP opportunities if it hadn't been there. The suggestion that was made to have a 5 minute timer before a message is delivered along with an instant server message to the recipient saying something along the lines of 'You feel someone trying to establish a connection to your mind' would do the trick just fine.

I can see all the mages twitching, screaming in their sleep as their enemies try to send a fax through a sending spell.

I think we're on the single best idea that the NWN2 community has ever been a part of.
More seriously, the updates are really neat. I can't wait for when I'm not in the middle of no-where and can log on.
Though most of the updates affect casters and vampires, save for the random encounters. I think we should implement a combo system for only non-casters. Down, Down-Left, Left, Right, W -- WHIRLWIND ATTACK!! It's a good idea, trust me; it's in the uh... PnP cheatcode book released in '08 by gameshark."Kaeldorn hates players." -Albert Einstein
