I only want to see them again if a DDO-like system for weapon hitpoints & repairing is implemented. It's just superlame if you automatically lose items you might have worked ages to get, or that are of personal value to your character, to some random monster. Without a DM around to assess such loss and giving options to get something in return, at least. And that DM to ensure it stays fun is always there in PnP.

The idea for random spawns came to me after I coded an overland map system. It based distance and spawning information like Spot/Listen and whether the person had stealth, etc.
For example, a ranger sneaking in the woods will be aware they spawned something and if they have spot listen, it can be a fair distance away and not even know they're there.
Just cuz I say "YOU WILL KNOW!" doesn't mean Monsters will spawn gank you. I'm just saying it'll be obvious.
Also, I plan to take away any hardcoded spawns in areas this would happen. The idea is dynamics and less rigidness.
The fun thing about the spawn system is it can even be story driven because of how the scripts work. Walking along you could end up making rolls and avoiding traps bandits set or walk right on it and they jump out of trees.
It's meant to enhance play, not punish players.

i would assume that its only "hunting" zones that will get this. just walking to the sunder gates delivering flags or walking around the crossroads will be safe still.
P.S from the looks of it thats a lot of hard work gon into all this, thanks for adding to the fun (or for evil people, the torment)Evananda – Priestess of joy.

I remember reading about detect evil (a long time ago) and it was a 3 round process that with each round passed would cause the paladins hand to glow brighter, would this be added?Originally posted by GodBeastXDetect Good/Evil
This will also be brought in line with P&P rules
Perhaps give it a delay of X minutes but when the spell is cast it immediatly sends a message "Your mind is assaulted with a jumble of glyphs and signs." If you cannot cast the spell it takes the X minutes for the spell to decipher the message for you, but if you have the spell it means you have knowledge of the spell to easily dechiper giving you the message immediatly.Originally posted by GodBeastXSending
This has quite literally become a problem in the PVP environment of Sundren. To me it's become an IC way of people being able to cause inescapable metagaming. I've seen, for example, sendings go out (Which is fine) telling people of enemies and fights, and people arriving on scene quite often to dispense justice. This isn't acceptable and trivializes the travel times on the server.
As such we've been reviewing possible changes to the mechanics of the spell to enforce more fair play policy and less gank mentality. One possible change may be that all sendings have a delay before delivery, thus people will be unable to act upon them until recieved.
Just writting that there's also the option when the message hits the PC, if the recieving PC casts the "Sending spell" it gives them the option to immediatly read it, or don't cast the spell and just wait the X minutes. This would require the PC to use a spell and/or give the option to UMD folks.
I'm not sure about the others but going there at level 5 the big issue I ran into was the respawn time. By the time I finished getting to the end I had to fight my way back out. This I could see being fatal to folks with limited spells or HP[/quote]Originally posted by GodBeastXThe Dark Advent Crypt
I've gotten reports the ghosts in particular are too difficult in the crypt so I'll be nerfing them to be easier for new people.Ben Krows

No I understand the point of the change I was just adding some different dimensions/ suggestions to the revamp. In truth all this spell is, is Rp based anyone could send a private tell to others and make-up some bullcrap rp reason they got there. "Oh I told them if I'm not back after a certain time come looking for me." Etc.Originally posted by GodBeastX View PostYou're missing the point of the change then. The point of the change would be so people can't act on a sending right away.
If you want to make it cut and dry X minutes for the spell to work then that's a good idea too. I'm just thinking if you have a instant message hit the PC ("A barriage of glyphs and symbols flood your mind") it will avoid the issue of someone logging off before the message ever hits them if they're unaware of it's arrival.
Ex.
John: "I must speak with my master . . "sendspell"
~~5 minutes later~~
Master1487 has left the game
John: "Uuuuh, it seems my master is asleep. . . "
~~2 minutes later the send arrives to logged off Master1487~Ben Krows

Sure they could...
