  • Vampires?

Alright, personally i think it's about time someone said something... I know that many other people agree with me when I say this, but there are starting to be way to many vampires around. I understand that if you get RPoTM and want to make a vampire cause you earned it, but random toons getting turned is a bit much. Personally I think that even if a toon is like a super-high-cleric of Colibrus or something they shouldnt get vamped until they earn RPoTM. I know this might seam like a strike against the vampire toons, but it's not, your all good. It's just that I think there's starting to be a few too many vampires... you know something's off when you start seeing more vampires than other non-locked races like gnomes, half-orcs, and grey orcs.

    /end rant
    My to-be toon:
    Shafiq Al-Mawt: Zakharan myrkulite.

    My tomb of old toons:
Cruven Schlachten - Blood Reaver of Garagos, Blackwood Company Elite, Hellstrom Head of Security
Marcus Waynard- Horned Harbinger, fear his best bud Frank!... and Jim, Bob, Sue, and Jane...
Davlamin Frostfoot - Frosty Snowflake, the Frozen Fist of Auril, sworn enemy of the Second Wind fire pit.

    Then find their coffins.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

Well that's probably as easy as it sounds.

vampires are easy enough to kill, if you know how. In their defense, they do run an ecl 5, and sunlight just merc's the living hell out of them. Also, I think GBX has it set where the sunlight/sunburst spells do more damage and don't allow a reflex save. Could be wrong here, it was an old post.

The new implosion changes will make Feigan/Clive/Kane damn near impossible to kill, but hey, every server needs their supervillain(s), right?

IMO, the good guys dont have to deal with Adeodadus Exitium anymore (i hope, *shakes warning finger to Gamling), so ... it could be alot worse!

My issue isn't that the vampires are overpowered or anything (i know they have like ECL of 8 or something). What I'm saying is that it's unfair that people that haven't gotten RPoTM can get vamped while the rest of us just sit there trying hard to improve our RP so that we can maybe, just maybe get a chance at just a planetouched or another special race. What i'm saying is that it seems to be given out far to often and it should be something super rare I would think.

So It's a jealousy thing? Well a vampire is actually a curse to some, and it has a big part to do with the lore on the server. If it's because of proportions to other planetouched, that's just tough noogies as someone once told me.

some of us are getting a little bored with the vampier/twilight craze. still i can recall seeing a post about the vampier number staying low...i can name about 7 now so that dont seem to have happened.

still any of us can just leave if we dislike it enough.

I think his point is that it almost removes the point of the RPoTM's reward. Character "x" gets in "y" situation and gets vamped, while character "z" works his butt off for months to be as best a roleplayer as he can to achieve roleplayer of the month.

I seriously doubt any of the players currently infected with vampirism (save one, perhaps... but that's not because of the vampirism itself) would count it as a curse. Maybe IC, but OOC? Not so much.

But merely white washing Asura's concern by implying it's a jealousy thing would be like to say that it's automatically a jealousy thing if you suddenly opened the floodgates for drow again, on the server, and then people suggested restricting them once again.

Asura makes a good point. Regardless of their power, vampirism is becoming increasingly common. And it's probably resulting in the opposite effect of what the staff originally intended. Instead of worry, fear, and foreboding with said vampires, it's kind of becoming a comical Benny Hill scene. Vampires play Benny Hill. Most of the server's population plays scantily clad women.

                  Now run around like crazy!

Ewww... what the hell does that have to do with some shitty movie based off a shitty book?

As it is very true, I don't put a gun to your head telling you to logon... there's... 'options'.

hehe sorry but with the high vamp numbers i have started to think of sundren as a twilight server, most the male vamps going after only girls....and half the victems "likeing" it

What I see is the whole vamp thing becoming an inside joke. All we need to do is open the gate for werewolves and have some uber Underworld freak out combat scene.

Course...that could be fun ...for a while at least

But the seemingly random choices for vamps allowed is kinda weird to me. If the vamps want to grow their numbers and gain strength, they should be picking certain, well-placed people to convert. This may be happening, but all most of us see is some random toon gets vamped in a van down by the river or something.

That would be the best event, ever.

Vampires make followers by enticing people with candy, into their wagon.

I've got one of the vampires. For the record he's less concerned with nibblin' on the ladies and more so about seeing his patron deity reborn. Hasn't been real active for the past few weeks, but I'm more than happy to offer some white knight the opportunity to perma-stake him to lower the number of the fanged and deadly.
