I think what Lanemeyer is trying to say is:

If I am in PvP somewhere isolated, and they kill me and leave my body there, how do I get back to life? Obviously I can't contact anyone. No one will know I was there.

So, in essence, that player has perma-killed me, simply because I am high level in some random location no one knows about.

    What is the solution there?

Whose graven runes in tomes of dread have taught/ What things beyond the star gulfs lurk and leer.
Dark Lord of Averoigne- whose windows stare/ On pits of dream no other gaze could bare!"

Why would / should you be able to get out of this situation...? You're dead and dumped in the wild - there's got to be some level of perspective here...

I think our general rule is, players can't perma other players without their permission. Please contact a DM if you die in PVP and cannot rez. We'll look into the FEN conversation to ensure PVP-dead players can rez by themselves past 11.

I can see the potential for some revisionist history abuse here Kaizen :O

              *sighs*

Well, a screenshot would be proof, but again -you're probably right.

But, IC we can do this, correct, via RP conversation, example:

Ru': "I'm going out to the Trade Post and then go chop wood in the Virdale, see you tonight."
Cybil: "OK. Be careful you tactless ranger." *slaps his hind quarters*

.... next day Cybil wakes and Ru' is still not back...

Cybil: "Hmm, I better go look for Ru', he should have been back by now."

                No harm there, correct?

We trust you Kaizen No worries. I just don't wanna open up doors for exploitation if I don't have to.

Correct Ru, no problem there. Again, my concern is folks using revisionist history to take advantage of that.
"Oh crap, I died. Well, I'll just pretend I told Cybil where I was going beforehand. Cybil, come rescue my body! If anyone asks, I told you yesterday that I was going to chop wood in the Viridale!"

I personally don't like to punish the majority of people for a few bad apples that exploit a situation. I think people have enough common sense to know when they're metagaming and when they're not. There's a feeling in your mind that goes "Oh shit, I didn't expect this, and I better correct it by exploitation". Everyone has that feeling in their head.

Honestly Kaizen, if you told somebody that, since Kaizen is always risking death cuz of how many enemies he has, I wouldn't even slap you on the wrist. However, people pull some funny things when it comes to death, just so they can go crazy getting exp farming without bringing a pal to watch their backs. A pal can always run away and get help or what not but they might get 10 exp less a kill.

DMs aren't hardcore police on Sundren, and I think that laxed nature breeds people feeling like they can get away with stuff and not worry. Hence the heavy penalty on this sort of thing. We're trusting players to act right, and when we catch people, we'd rather nip the behavior in the bud than put in all this code and be watching what people are doing, you see what I'm saying? It's a hassle for us to permeate fair play when those couple bastards are out doing all they can to undermine us.

So instead of sitting and looking for how far you can push the idea. Just use some common sense.

"I'm dead... there's no way to communicate with those not dead."

Follow that guideline, and you'll be fine I'm sure.

There's also the matter of who would be likely to come save you. When a member of the triad is sending tells to a Banite asking them to come raise them, I start getting my sharp pointy smiting stick ready.

GodBeastX is right. This is a pretty simple rule that actually applies to a lot of other situations too. Boiled down to the rule's primal essence I think it can be summed up like this:

                          Don't metagame.

Because so many people use a definition of metagaming that conveniently omits the specific situation that may apply to them we'll define it using Sundren's definition:

The DMs are handling the situation quite nicely.

Really though, folks, travelling alone on Sundren where dying alone is so easy is really really dumb for a couple of reasons.

First, it's really easy to get overwhelmed by a few monsters that are appropriate for your level. Even if you have a really high Armor Class three goblins get three times as many rolls as a single character in a fight. Essentially that boils down to a 15% chance of a critical hit against most characters measly 5% chance each and every round. Those are really bad odds even for a heavily armored individual.

Second, you get 30% MORE experience when you've got three or more people in your party. That adds up in a hurry so take advantage of it when you can.

Signuseseses are going to be slightly more attainable for those who venture out now. Remember: higher risk, higher reward possibilities
