    Right?

It is my personal belief that they want to personally see to all the rezzing... they are trying to corner the market!! Clerics everywhere will be out of work!!! the end times are upon us!!

Maybe if you have a written journal in your inn room and some friend goes looking for you and reads through it, they could figure out where you went....

Ok, maybe this is an excuse to get everyone to say what they've been doing, but it could be a benefit for people that actually DO keep journals? Just a thought. If you're only putting in "I'm going to Mossdale to kill Orcs today" as your only entries, I'd personally consider this a bit suspect if I was a DM... but I'm not, so I'll let them make that decision.

          Right?
The answer will be no. Or, at least it should be.

We made 11+ require a rescue or signus for a reason. Otherwise, we would have just let you self-rez from this point forward.

If you die and are not rescued, and you do not have a signus, there's not much to be done. DMs will not create some rez circumstance to rescue your high level character.

So please, don't send anyone tells, DM or otherwise, regarding getting rescued from death--unless that person was present when you died. We don't mind a little communication, like giving a heads up about, "Hey we have you, don't rez yourself!" But calling in for a rescue is not allowed.

PS--I realize there's conflicting views here with the DM staff, and we'll straighten that out in the DM forums. Please take my post as the word on this though

Please don't make up stories either about journals or anything like that. It's a vague RP attempt at covering up an OOC rescue

The DM team is internally discussing things on this.

As an interim solution, I'll update the death rules for signuses. Anyone who uses a signus to rez, and did not die in PVP, can retain their memory. This will enable the person who uses the signus to remember the body locations and act appropriately IC to form a rescue party.

So long as you are traveling in a group and have at least one person with a signus, you shouldn't need worry about the dreaded TPK.

Lastly, the only reason you should contact a DM for a resurrection is if there was a computer issue that led to your death. We can have some sympathy there, although it isn't guaranteed.

I asked because I got killed with Marees by another PC, which I had no chance at all. So, if it happens, I will just have to sit and wait someone to rez me by chance? Or should I consider a perma in the case? Of course in this case, I might get rezzed because Uri already posted that the body has been taken to a temple.

ok, my main character has been dead in an unknown location for over a week (a body sitting around that long would be nasty by now, right?). if nobody finds him then he is pretty much perm'd? what if I decide to give up waiting for somebody to come along? could I give his unique items to a dm to give on the next quest that runs through that area? (search check: you found a corpse with a shiney dagger) or could I hand down an item to his love interest or faction? does the Church of Waukeen pocket my account or can it go to my faction?

After the game, the king and the pawn go into the same box.

Remember, you don't have an XP penalty to rez from PVP. Do you simply not have the option in the dialog? If so, we'll need to update the conversation. If you die from PVP, no matter what level, you should incur no death penalty and should be able to avoid perma. Bear in mind, if someone "drags your body somewhere," you need to play along.

Does he have a signus? Does any other character know where his body is?

                          No and no.

I'm fine with ending his story. I'm just curious on what happens to all his loot and gear. Does that just vanish then?

His loot and gear were probably taken by the things that killed him.

Sure, I have no problem to play along wherever it leads, I just didn't get the option of rezzing. The body has been taken to Helm temple

Players can still bring your body to the temple for resurrection--no problem there Lane!

On a related note, we are discussing some exciting options to help grouping seem much more appealing for 11+ characters who are out leveling. We'll post when we come to a conclusion, but it will likely need some time to implement.
