So you know, my intent is not and never was to be a power gamer, the way I see it, leveling is something I do when their is nothing else around... Because of the fact im gmt +8 as Saulus knows I'm 12 hours ahead of him, Most of the RP has died down when I come on, and peaks up when i go to bed.

The way I see it, most people agree. If there isn't much going on, you go dungeon crawling. I even do that myself on servers as a player. So logically, if your time means you're dungeon crawling for such a long time, then you shouldn't be getting huge exp or you will level to 20 in a few days. I mean, take 187,000 and / 60. ABout 3100 kills would put you level 20 at that rate, and trust me, those kills go fast. So instead of 3100 kills, we made it take 9300. That's not that bad of a change in my book.

If our characters manage to live to epic levels, then they're doing well...>_>;Adama who was once called Adama Hrakness, sacred paw of Mielikki
Lihana Farrier, Paladin of Torm and noble dalliance
On Hold: Alandriel Ward, Actually a Vampire Groupie
Retired for Good: Tamryn Jorandur, Hano's Wife and Conflicted Soul

I for one, hope there is some Epic progression, whether it is slow or not, because then you can really realize your characters progression. Also, IMO, most players need to see some progression, or they either quit, find another server, or just keep starting new characters and never stay with one or RP very well.
It is great to RP and I love it, but I also love progression and fleshing out my characters. And I am no power gamer, by far, LOL, my character is a bard..............
I guess my point is, if you make the server accomodate Epic levels, then give them out, don't make it so that you make one Epic level per real year of game play, but something reasonable.

Epic levels will not be nearly as easy to get as the standard levels. This has been the census of not only Staff, but players for the most part. The gameplay changes alot at epic levels. Each level making your character greatly stronger than the previous one. Feats giving large bonuses like "Pull Dragon out of my pocket" spells.
From the RP standpoint, "Epic" is not a natural progression of Adventurers. Video games tend to make it seem like it is since 21 just seems like another level beyond 20, but it's essentially a whole other league of characters. Characters Gods fear type of deal.
I'd say considering everything, "Handing them out" is sort of irresponsible. Sure, we want people to reach epic, but we want characters to truly be worthy of the title epic to reach epic levels. You see what I'm saying? You may have started out with the background story of a fighter, but if you're level 25, and you show up in a war, people around you suddenly decide they're going to win, like Achilles in "Troy". That, to me, is an example of an Epic Weaponmaster.
We're still been discussing epic levels and these points have been raised:
- It has been thoroughly agreed epic levels will not be reached by killing random creatures. If you kill 100000000000 orcs, you're never going to reach level 21.
- DM Quests and events with granted experience should contribute to gaining epic levels.
- We're weighing out if the quest system will contribute to epic levels.
- There will be dungeons that are designed around the concept that the party will have epic players within it. These dungeons will not be a simple run through cave like Spittlefist, you'll really be getting pummelled
