It might be interesting to include all three of the main suggestion representing the rift in internal politics that "might" have occured when Khelemvor(?) was "Killed"

Dividing the clergy into the following:

Ilmator: The lawful good/neutral followers who want nothing more to continue to comfort the dying...as Myrkul and Jergal aren't noticibly good at this aspect of death

Hoar: Lawful Neutral/Evil followers who are interested in getting back at the BH for their involvment in the "death" of their god.

Jergal: ((see above alignment)) followers who seek a more rational and subtle approach to opposing Myrkul/Bane (Jergal doesn't especially like Myrkul, and would despise the office of death being controlled by Bane (which if I remember correctly was Bane's goal in supporting the ressurection)) These followers would be more interested in the controll of undead aspect of their former religion.

This scenario could very easily come into play after an event like the ressurection of Myrkul for the Khelemvorite church.

EDIT: Considering Doomguide is a restricted class on this server the staff could manage how many of each kind were rolled up

Jergal is loyal to the Office of death, not the God of death much in the same way the White House Staff is loyal to the office of the president, but whenever they get the chance to vote they dont vote for the guy they dont like simply because he's in there.

Granted there isnt any elections for the office of God of Death but I dont thing Jergal would freak out if his followers had a hand in putting someone Khelemvoresque back in office if not the man/god himself

He's head of administration and paperwork for whichever god is wearing the Death shoes this year. That doesn't mean subserviant, he can and has worked against the god of death in the past and could easily do so again.

While I like the idea of Hoar picking up some Doomguides.... I see how that would seem a bit off. I guess it just doesn't really fit perfectly for any other God. Maybe its just best to change it to fit one diety better, or scrap it. The second being unfortunate, and the first tedious.

I think it would be very interesting if it is something that Hoar picked up. Playing a Jergalite, I'm not quite sure they would be interested in being that focused on what Doomguides do. Though with Doubt putting up the Companions of the Pallid Mask, there are a few. But I don't think Jergal as a deity would grant powers for it.

But I could also see Ilmater picking it up as well. So I would say either Hoar or Ilmater. And between those two, I'd go with Hoar.

How about "The return of Kelemvor". I am sure his body is floating around somewhere on the astral plane.

Jergal is cool btw. He said fuck it, its all one big pointless turd machine, cycling round and around, and he shouted "Boring!", jumped off, and let someone else have a go of the tricycle. I'll just hang back here and summaries your life in a few sentences just to prove just how pointless it all is before Kezef the Chaos hound eats you into non existence. Oh and btw, in the end, youre all screwed. Illsensine the undead elder god of the illithid - well he sits at the end of time ruling over all dimensions and realities having assimilated everyone and everything . ruling over nothing. Again W00t! Illsensine, you win the game you fucking hero. Enjoy. Ain't you the man you big winner. You can just go sit in the corner and masturbate while sobbing. Boo Hoo Hoo.

              Yeah Jergal is Badass!

Ilmater makes sense for the 'class' but perhaps not for picking up kelemvors existing clergy.

He's the best choice by a shot imo.

                  Raise Kelemvor.

I disagree with this whole thread for one BIG REASON.

Many of Kelemvor's priests WERE MYRKULITES BEFORE KELEMVOR WAS GOD.

That means that a majority may not actually give a shit Myrkul took over again.

If anything I'd rather see Doomguides go to Jergal than turn into a vengeance class for good. They aren't "good" and they aren't people who are out to avenge injustices as a whole (Like Tyr). They do a duty to the dead and that's about it.

So pick up your scythes with me and let's bring the culling
