He's currently Myrkul's plaything, and Myrkul employs him some undead, so it wouldn't fly.

But why would we all want to make evil aligned doomguides? I mean, it is a requirement to be evil as a hin on sundren, right?Tigen Amastacia: Died in events so you didn't have to.
Quintin Ulsteris: Nice-guy Legion engineer, deceased son of House Ulsteris.
Clandriel Cain: AKA "Fire-eyes" AKA "Demon hunter" AKA "OH MY GOD, WHY IS HE STILL STABBING ME!!??"

Actually, where can i read up on the said events? The only reference i have had that something was amiss was IG via Luther in the barracks.

The wiki doesn't make mention of any of this under Kelemvor that I could see. It does explain why he had NONE listed as his Portfolios in the deity table the last time I looked through the wiki (although this was not reflected within the wiki entry for Kelemvor, either).

Upon doing a quick search of the forums I've managed to turn up a few posts in the RP and Rumours forums.
Myrkul's return (thanks Seheren) http://www.sundren.org/forum/showthread.php?t=15906&highlight=kelemvor
Seems to be a bit of a wrap up after the events - http://www.sundren.org/forum/showthr...light=kelemvor
Following the destruction of the temple in Sestra - http://www.sundren.org/forum/showthr...light=kelemvor
A more thorough search may turn up more, but I didn't have time to scan through more entries.Last edited by supersuperlative; 07-30-2011, 01:35 AM. Reason: Put the links in order of their posting; updated description of first link given Seheren's clarification below (thanks)

Doomguides serve to release undeath to their final resting place. Where as they can follow another god an serve this purpose, most other gods dogma wont mix well with the Dogma of Kelemvor, Some aspects can be found here and there spread out among many gods. Domains cover a vast area of a specific focus, let us not confuse the similarity of domains that gods share as being synonymous with their Dogma. A faithful of Kelemvor would not drop their beliefs to go on a vendetta for vengeance. They would continue to be faithful to their teachings though they would continue to do so without Divine Magics."Service to a cause greater than yourself is the utmost honor you can achieve."

The first post was actually made after the event, when we successfully raised Myrkul. I took that as Myrkul showing all that he was back, and death was again to be feared. There was so much lead up to that final event it would be hard to describe in posts, I was privy to a lot of it IG but I still missed a lot, too.

I quite like the notion of the Doomguide class going to Jergal.
In particular the old 'Companions of the Pallid Mask'.
Jergal, being a go who's rather keen on administration and office duties, seems the right deity to have a group who go about making sure that people's deaths are recorded properly and that their spirits end up in the right place. His portfolio does, after all, include 'Proper Burial'.
They also track down unwanted or troublesome (IE: Not Jergals or Myrkuls) undead and deal with them, and hire out undead work crews (Need a barn raised? Our Zombie-Teams make manual labour a breeze! They'll moan, but not about working conditions!)
They would effectively fill the Doomguides niche, although probably without the whole comforting the living aspects. It is the greatest of all mistakes to do nothing because you can only do a little - Do what you can.

..While important as hunters of the undead, for doomguides this is merely a secondary role they take up when necessary and all doomguides understand the need to both lay the undead to rest and comfort the living, regardless of their personal preferences. The primary duties of doomguides remain the consolation of the dying, the dead, and those whom they have left behind to grieve for them...Originally posted by SaulusStop playing other shitty MMOs and work on Sundren, asshole.

A Jergalite Doomguide wouldn't have much to do, here, and that'd just be one more non-good PRC.
I'm sure there's plenty of wiggle room for a character serving Jergal to oppose the Black Hand (and as a result Myrkul's undead), I wouldn't expect a Jergalite Paladin to be happy with the BH, so a cleric against them is no big deal. (looking back at my origional post I shouldn't have included Myrkuls undead - Just undead sanctioned by the Jergalite church).
That said, Cornuto makes a good point with Ilmater, the comforting and healing aspects of the Doomguide class do fit in well with that. Though Ilmater would require a different set of alignment choices. It is the greatest of all mistakes to do nothing because you can only do a little - Do what you can.
