Die Hard: Give an option just after character creation for someone to select the "Die Hard" trait. This trait multiplies (maybe by x3) the amount of XP someone gets from the RP XP trickle. However, they now only have a maximum number of respawns (say, 5-10). They burn bright, but die fast. Level easier, but die off easier.
The Road More Traveled: Someone who takes the road more traveled perk after character creation gets a multiplier to their RP XP trickle but loses their ability to gain XP from spawns. This is for the crafters, tradesmen, merchants, scholars, pacifists, preachers, and myriad other character concepts that require advancement but realistically wouldn't go commit genocide to develop their skills. Just make sure they don't get too much, because it's a less risky path - the tradeoff is that it should be a slower one.

These suggestions might encourage people to play a more diverse array of characters. It would also encourage people like me, who would rather take a nail through the skull than "adventure" up to level 20 again, to make new characters and keep things fresh.
