I like all of them, but the third is best Only comment on that one is that the hilt texture could use some work, it might be a bit too smooth, and could be a little more worn.

        So I've noticed .

So far I've kept all these models below 650 polys but does Sundren have a stricter requirement than the standard 1000?

Llew, I wanna say that considering you're new to this the results are excellent, and I have no criticisms. I would like to point out that you will *never* see the maces up that close IG, and from a distance having too much detail is wasted. Basic but still different is perfect.

I wanna thank everyone for their criticisms and comments so far, its been very helpful and I feel like I've learned a lot by doing this. If I ever see Modeler/Texturer position open up on the jobs page I'll be applying for it but as for now it seems Sundren has enough.

If you want to see me attempt another weapon or a new cloak texture or anything of that sort post a pic or drawing or sketch or even a detailed description and I'll do my best. I can't promise that any of this will ever get in game but its fun for me and there's no harm in making something just to make it.

            Anyway; thanks again everyone.

New handaxe: I kept it pretty basic.

              Comments, suggestions?

                The pipe! The pipe!

                Good, solid axe. Nice work!

                  No pipes! Smoking kills!

                    A little fancier.

Edit: Does this look too much like a dwarven waraxe? Would it help to make it smaller?

In keeping with my deity themed weapons I made Silvanus' Maul - "The Great Mallet of Silvanus".

I'm kinda' confused though because the forgotten realms wiki says that it's a Maul but its called a Mallet and Mauls and Mallets are completely different things (and as far as I know mallets have never been used for combat purposes.)

Although the game doesn't have official mauls there's an unofficial maul in the warhammer parts so that's where I put this model.

Tell me if something doesn't look right. (Proportionately I'm starting to think the actually hammer part itself is too big.)

Its supposed to look like stone with an engraved Oak Leaf so tell me if I get that across.

Inspired by Llew I thought I'd get off my lazy arse and start doing what I said I'd do about 2 months ago..

                            Tonight's WIP: Hand axe.

404 triangles - Model is about 1/2 done..

Based off a lunchtime doodle/idea - Axe built around a golden spiral.
texture was just a quick play about in photoshop, will probably be replaced.

Ignore the segmenting on the tail of the spiral forgot to turn off the UV export before I rendered

                            Eira Skald - Icy bitch.
Karsten Mannerheim - Idealist and murderer.
Vincent Hopkins - Witch Hunter and man of faith.
Aedan Gilter - Dreamer of broken dreams.
Henry L. Jones - Oh god, I can see forever.

Keep up the great work, both of you! And yes, that maul does seem... a bit heavy at the front, it looks like when you run you'd have a great deal of trouble holding it

And it looks more like a tool with that wooden hilt, but its a greatly done hammer!

                              ITS HAMMER TIME!

You did get that across, the oak leaf, but from a distance, you could see that so long as its bright enough. Also, it looks like the ball of the mail/mallet is... too big compared to the main base of the metal maul/mallet, it looks... like it can break off easily! But thats just me.

And with TheBrogueadier, Some curve to the actual blade would be nice, and a darker texture to the hilt would be nice too, but thats all my suggestions, wonderful

                                Ta

I had a play with a curve on the axe blade but it kind of spoilt the aestetic I was aiming for - Very simple geometry; straight lines on the outer edges in contrast to the curve of the inner spiral.

Might add a few more polys to it tonight for another try, recess the two main texture blocks and see if I can get some nicer textures going on - Thinking about different geometic shapes and spirals at the moment rather than the maggoty gubbins it's got now.

Also going to try and get it in game - Not tried that before so it'll be a challenge.

Time allowing I want to start work on something I doodled out a while back, one or two new helmets for rangers/druids.

Maybe a quick look at pipes over the next day or two.

If anyone has requests I'm open to them.
