  • Greetings and Question

Hello mates. I'm new player in the server from several days and i like it a lot I'm still waiting for an application and hope to join seriously the server soon.

My Question is : Is there any other starting areas or different things for the special races ? For example drow - underdark, duergars, yanti, outsiders ? And are they hostile to the towns, merchands ?

No, special races are normally RP'd as outcasts or agents on behalf of something else, as is normally worked into their submitted back stories before approval. In the past we've had small groups of Drow raiders, for example simultaneously approved and RP'd with marginal success.

For the most part however special races have a tendency to be assimilated into one of Sundren's standing factions.

No matter if they are good or evil and deity ? It will be a bit strange to have good asimaars paladins with evil drow assassins

Starting location more or less is characters wandering into Sundren through the only land-accessible gate in the region, and the early progression tends to push them out of that area within the players first hour and into the general Sundren world. Creating entire zones on a server for a particular pallet of races is difficult, the only exception to this generally the Underdark, which can allow for Humans, Drow, Deep Gnomes, Deep Dwarves, some Shield Dwarves and some Tieflings. Other races tend to have too-exclusive of area's, which minimizes general accessibility to the server.

Ahh okay, my bad then, well faction-wise evil characters tend to join the more generalized evil factions, while good characters join the more good factions. Most characters should be able to find a place within at least one faction on the server, given that there are factions that generally cater to most Good, Evil, Lawful and Chaotic characters. Though there are exceptions, and not every character will be able to find a home, though that's just as much to do with regional tendencies as it does mechanical limitations.

ECL+ races are very rare. Its barely worht considering infact!

The most interesting characters are divided by class and motivation. Play a Paladin/rogue and amuse us all

Haha If i'm a DM and if i see a Paladin/Rogue, i will delete immediatly this character.
Btw i have other question I create a sorcer and paladin, with the sorcer is pretty hard because the respawn of the bandits is long and i can't handle other monsters for now. Did you have some suggestions and advises what to do ? With the paladin i'm ok, i rush directly the goblins and it's ok

As a sorcerer, you're especially fragile in the early levels. If possible, I would find another player with a character in a similar level range to group with in order to take on the goblins. Also, if your sorcerer is good/lawful-aligned, or doesn't mind doing work for the Sundarian government, I would recommend talking to people in the military district.

Bandits and goblins aren't the only things low-level characters can fight!

Good job you're not a DM then! :P

Rogue/Paladin is a perfectly valid character type.

Both the ShadowBane Stalker and Inquisitor classes fit very well, the Shadowbane Inquisitor being tailor made for the paladin/rogue multiclass.

There's also the Skullclan hunter - A sneaky undead hunting paladin, and the Greyguard.

There are also several feats knocking around for the combo - Devoted Inquisitor being a great one (Using smite evil and sneak attack at the same time results in the foe being dazed)

                        That aside! Welcome

Sorcerers are very squishy at low level, your best bet is traveling with company until you've got enough grunt to stand on your own.

                            Rogue ≠ thief

Sneaky paladins are fine, how else are the Hoarite batmen supposed to arrange their grand entrance?

Even if it's not a thief, the life of the Paladin and the fighting style is a Code of Honor, he is not using dirty, sneaking style. I believe everyone will agree.
