I played through the Original Campaign some fifteen times, and I've currently beaten the MotB campaign four times. Good stories, though the 'epicness' of MotB is completely laughable, as no gnoll, let alone Red Wizard (students and lowly instructors, no less) are nearly that powerful. If you can get over that, and just go with the story - it can be very satisfying. Particularly, the companion character in NWN2 are highly entertaining and very well-rounded. Playing through multiple times I get to see how their personalities truly are, rather than see the 'one-dimensional' aspect that can sometimes come from only seeing one side of the glass.

Active
Reinamar Stormseeker - The bladestorm that must turn back the wind. Arkerym of The People, practitioner of the forgotten art, pariah.
Tyler Penleigh - Obligatory author insert, Red Blade Defender, sarcastic jerk, caring brother, loving fiancé, war criminal.
Retired/Dead
Eirimil Gaelazair (Dead)- Bitter. Caustic. Abrasive. Egocentric. Probably right. Found dead in the burned-out Viridale forest a few weeks after the survivors were able to sweep the area after the Bloodmaim offensive. Aside from his usual attire, an intricate music box was the only thing in his possession.

Also, the loot that they give out is silly. The stories are good, but I just can't dig on the super high magic and high level stuffs.
I prefer the ...unpredictability ...of live interaction and a lower magic setting.
The problem's really with D&D (RE: level system) and I don't doubt Obsidian did the best they could.
My only real motivation to try again is to see more of the areas. But then again, I can do that through the toolset.Mapper and Mad Kitten
Currently playing:
Lill Moonberry - Halfling Bard who knows the Hills are Alive with the Sound of angry goblins

I played through both campaigns once through. They aren't bad, though the originals ending was horrid.
Generally pretty good. I like the MP a lot more though, hope they are able to get that multi-server stuff out and more support for the DM client and PWs.Names Taallic.

I remember, a long time ago, when there was actually a long advertisement clip on the mainstream french TV channels in Quebec about Baldur's Gate, a D&D computer game, coming-soon with... . I was like "woooaahh...", never having seen any video game advertisement on TV before (even World of Warcraft was never advertised in french where I live, heh).Drado Nackle, gnome scholar of the Weave

One time. If i want to see the other endings and the such, i simply use cheats to change my alignment around and load some saves that were not too long back ago. I'm not restarting just to get a little bit more of the plot. No way. I enjoyed MotB.The only RPG i played twice was Fable;TLC and NwN:HotU.

Sundren is a bad bad infulence
Sorry--but BG2 is a large game. And trying to produce a fan-made one is just not economical. Though sadly it is mostly the fan-made stuff which has the most heart poured into.
I'd love to see BG1, BG2, and hell, NWN1 original campaigns (remade better of course and multiplayer functional)Characters:
Tiberias Laylonar: Ranger of the Viridale, Woodsman of the Cormanthor, Stalker of Sundren, Hunter of Illusk, Strider of the Wood, Tracker of many means, and Rugged womanizer--on a short chain.
K'narth: The True-Neutral Barbarian of Helm. All body, no brains...or does he? "K'narth bes Helmet!" "Farewell byes!" Guess not.
Johnathan Dalrun: Holy Knight of Kelemvor, Good looking womanizer, and sarcastic meatshield--now lying in the Necropolis, dead as a doornail.

I think I remeber going through the OC once, I definately remeber my party being wiped out acouple of times and I had to reload from very earlier saves (Yes, very annoying and sad for me to load after party died).
Was quiet funny how my party died, who would've thought being swarmed by sneak attacks that rogues would kill off every one of my party members...Rogues are no pushovers and they are certainly not weak, don't know why people keep saying they are underpowered.

Barely touched MotB. Made a char and realised that playing a char that starts at a high level holds no fun for me. I like the process of working out your play style over a number of levels as spells and feats are gained. Just having a load of stuff dumped on you is unsatisfying. Then I fired up MP and was happy.
The NWN series OCs have never held much interest for me anyway. Mostly due to the easy of them. The BG and IWD games were very difficult at points and you really had to put a good strategy together to advance. I forced myself to complete the NWN2 OC but I can't really think of a bit that caused me any real problems or made me think. The times I died was usually when I ran into battle to find that my party were standing still at some point on the map staring at the wall!Peppington Merrifefferlis - Most learned scholar of the fine exalted institution that is Candlekeep, centre of all learning that is Arcane and magical in nature. I forced myself to play half the NWN2 OC and when MoTB came out I played it until after you get the Spirit bear.
they both are a disgrace to the genre of CRPGs imo.
esp. with the OC I felt like it was written very hastily, although MoTB clearly had more effort put in it (still sucked though)
but I didnt buy the game for the OC.
as for Baldurs gate, Im sure theres a team working on BG 1 remake. I cant wait to play it when it gets released.
