Gene can solo Necropolis, has been able since level 5. But I keep being told that we can't do that for risk of DM beat down. So I've made a couple of runs a week.

Goblins have better stats than Gene and kick her tush.

As GBX said today: The rumors of 'DM beat down' regarding doing the Necropolis is a load of rubbish.

I'd say 3-4 runs spread out throughout one day is just fine. More than that would be boring.

This is a difficult question for me to answer, because the answer strongly depends on the individual's character class. Spell-casters, especially high level ones, will have a FAR better time of it than those with little to no spell casting skills. Next those who rely on melee weapons will fare better than those who favor missile weapons such as bows. This last statement is in part due to the fact that there are NO missile weapon munitions to equal the enchantments cast on melee weapons and available to melee weapons ONLY!

So, I beg to differ with the contention that Sundren supports group role-play or group hunting. There are many areas that the staff feels is a group area, and I do not see it. I see areas where those who choose things like the cleric class not only can hunt them at their own pace and alone, and do so quite often. Quite simply if it was not for the spiraling down experience points, we would have clerics, wizards, and other major spell-casters at level that would dwarf those who choose not to play those classes.

This is also a good point... Once spellcasters hit level 10ish, they do indeed become frighteningly powerful (and with the right combination of spells can manage pretty much anything available). But as Myr said, it's in the nature of the classes, it's difficult to see how the encounters could be changed to take account of high level spellcasters without making them even worse for eberyone else (except maybe through heavier use of dispels by enemies!).
          I got one leg missin'
          How do I get around?

I believe the item makers are going to be working on some ranged magic weapons, so don't worry! That being said, part of the reason missile weapons suck so badly is because Obsidian implemented them wrong, I believe.

As far as spell casters go... they have a very easy time at high levels, but A) mostly when solo only (when in groups at high level, they have to hold back so much in order to not kill their party), and B) have to spend 10 levels being completely worthless (which, on Sundren, is fairly long time).

That being said, there is a surprising lack of spellcasters on the server (which is very, very nice). Beyond Hlaine, Sylloven, and myself, the amount of pure arcane casters at high level is rare (there's a spattering low levels, and a fair amount of Eldritch Knights that tend to only use swords anyway, but only 3-ish high level pure arcane casters). As far as clerics go, they were the FotM, but due to GBX's warning about cleric deity requirements I think people are not going to be as likely to pick one now.

              Maybe we need spell reagents

Hmm, that'd get mages not shooting spells over and over then simply resting. ^^. I was in a server like that briefly, where all spells costed money, and warlock spells damaged the warlock itself.

I'm giving a lot of love to non-casters with new weapons, new armors and special consummables that grant spell-like effects. Here's a sample of stuff I've already put in:

                      - Tattoos, one-use magical effect for emergencies. Red Wizards, magical tattoo masters, can inscribe them on your skin, provided you have the hefty sum asked in your possession.
                      - Magical Arrows and arrows with special heads (inflicting not-piercing damage), available at the Glade's Ranger Outpost
                      - Enchanted Bows, Green, Blue and Red, also for sale at the Ranger Outpost.

                      What's coming soon:

                      - Enchanted Crossbows/Bolts/Slings/Throwing Muffins (All direly needed)
                      - Monk/oriental wares (To encourage a larger monk presence on Sundren)

And the new ranger armors will be shifted to Light armor types, this is a mistake caused by my ignorance and the fact that the NWN2 manual lies saying Rangers wear Medium. >_<

They LIE like an 5,000 year old rug that been left to rot in the Amazon.

Seriously, there was a time, but since 3.5 it's been light armor only, unless you take the feat.

And I'm giving love to the casters, heh. Got quite a few staves upcoming, ones that have charges with offensive spells so casters don't have to keep using arrows/melee weapons pre-10 due to running out of spells.

                            I cried.

It's okay though, it's an easy error to make. I look forward to seeing the light armor types up...everything else you put up is excellent and so very badly needed!

Cool! *looks at his watch* I've been a dev for one week or so and I made someone cry for the first time! Oh, the seniors must be so proud... ^_^

Seriously though, I was quite fond of the Basilisk Scale Armor looks, it will pain me to water it down into leather.
