Could this be made more gradual instead of one giant speedbump once you get to level 6?

    As in:
    Level 3: 50%
    Level 4: 45%
    Level 5: 40%
    Level 6: 35%
    Level 7: 30%
    Level 8: 25%
    Level 9: 20%
    Level 10: 15%
    Level 11+: 10%

Problem with that is though there are always new people joining the server, so you cant keep stopping the higher lvl players from earning xp just to let other people catch up with them all the time.

If someone joined the server earlier, or spends hours and hours online they shouln't be penalised for it by having a 0%xp stamp on them, that dosen't really reward them for the time they've invested in playing.

All the players I've seen who are up around lvl 10 at the moment are good Role Players who spend alot of their time just Role playing with eachother rather than running around training.

Because of that I had to vote for 50% until lvl 10 and then 10% after.

Also worth pointing out that if you stop higher lvls from earning so lower lvls can catch up, you end up with a server full of people all around the same lvl, and then when all those people want to go dungeon crawling, they find there are about 30 other people all in the same spot because they're now all hunting the same lvl creatures as eachother

I think the %s are only for people who went past "the curve", meaning they have been getting a lot of XP. So the "0% stamp" on higher level characters would only happen if they had been getting a lot of XP in the first place, enough to put them ahead of the planned +/- 5 months to level 20.

So it's not that higher levels wouldn't get XP at all. They just wouldn't get XP if they had already got "too much"

I would like an option for it to say 50% untill level 5, then 10% to level 10, then 0 % from that point on.
That sounded like the best option to me... voted.

It means people can catch up to those ahead albeit slowly. Personally I don't mind if people stay 'ahead' of my characters in terms of level. I would have never caught up to them in any case... not a goal which is fun to go after for me.

I like the system as it is right now.
I was out the other day fighting ghost in Saestra Caves, and with every 3or4 ghosts i killed, I got one less xp, which all made sense to me, since that would finally drop to a point where I would think "ah forget it" and go RP instead.
I also don't think we should stop people from leveling up. Some people have alot of time to spend on killing AND rping, so we can't blame them or punish them for being online alot. I know that since the DM's are having everyone checked before they can join, there's not going to be such a word as powerlevelling, since everyone has to think out a background of their characters, and the powergamers and bad-rpers won't even spend time on doing that. They'll just go and find another server to slice their way through.

I think the current system is great, it stops new players from hitting 20 in 2-3 days/ a week if they've got the RL time, and it encourages RP since XP is fun to get, then they'll seek out RP to get involved in something.

Level isn't the only thing that makes your character strong.. For an orc, then maybe level is all, since they bash the skulls out of everyone, but for characters with higher intelligence, it's not so important to have a high level, and for RPers, lvl isn't important at all, since they'll rp out their fights instead of *rightclick-attack*

Cheers mate! I'm going to PnP now!
I have a +1 question brewing in this skull somewhere...

My beliefs on character development are about...20 % level, 80% RP (since some RP, will require your character to be developed to a certain degree anyways...). 10% after level 1o0 with 50% minimum works for me.

Honestly, keep it the way it is. If people are over-earning experience at a rate of 50% past their curve all the way to level 10 then when they bottom out to 10% it's not going to feel any better then it does for me now (for the sake of example), my main is around 14k in the hole since the experience system changed. Discourage them right away, let it bottom out to 10% so that our power hungry friends, not pointing any fingers, will be discouraged immediately rather then suprised at level 10.

I like the current system. Yea, my character is about 30,000 xp over the curve and I said that. If 5 months is what you guys want then i'm fine with it.

EDIT: I would like a graduated system like this for the ECL races to reach level 3, or possilby the 50% minimum until level 5 for everyone.
Heh, i guess my characters are deleted, now. Updating char list soon!

I don't like the fact that we're screwed for past actions, really...if we were given a half clean slate of some degree I'd be happy. :/

Half Clean slate means to rip out some of your XP, or you could simply start over.

I meant with those of us who leveled faster from DM events. I feel really angry that I have to suffer for two weeks because I got 5000 more exp from DM Events when it wasn't even my fault that I got so much in the first place. A clean slate would be less time for those of us who had no choice on how much exp You guys gave us.

Aw come on! This isn't about xp! It's about having fun, and if you got 5k (!) from roleplaying events then be glad, you had 5k of alot of fun I guess

Take some time and only RP, one could acctually go all the way to twenty by only doing events and RPing
