Given it's an RP server and I for one am a casual gamer (as most of you probably are) I would say 6 months just so then if you don't play for a few days you're not depressingly far behind. I personally would love it if the pressure to progress were kept at a minimum. However it would be nice to feel you've accomplished something more frequently then not. It's my opinion that 20 levels in 6 months is reasonable (If you're casual).

I voted 6 months as well.
Hm... how to say this... my take on this would be that casual players should not be too far away from the 24/7 gamers => 4-5 months to reach level 20 for the 24/7 and 6 months for the casual ones... the XP system that is in place is already awesome. What it boils down to then is how much XP is given out via DM quests (although that is calculated into the equation IIRC).Playing Asha'easaahae Illeleste & Frem

DM's reward you for roleplaying, not killing stuff.
But apart from roleplaying XP, there is also quest XP - which seems to be quite a lot (again judging from reading the forums and from one personal experience). Not saying this should not be so or that it is bad - it just has to be calculated into the equation. Oh, and then there are those characters who probably are level 10 or above already...
Honestly - I trust GBX to handle this well.Playing Asha'easaahae Illeleste & Frem

I voted 6mths. I have always thought 1 lvl a week or a week + a good average with normal play. That being about 15-20 hrs per week for me. Obviously people that make NWN a second job and are here 30 or 40 hrs it will be quicker. And if they chose to put in the time then should gain the benefits. I know a guy that played about 100 hrs straight to catch up to the rest of our crew on a new NWN1 server. The wonders of modern pharmaceticals.

It sounds like a clear majority favor over 4 months. I voted 6 months as Sundren is not a hardcore server as has been stated by staff. Hardcore to me is a year or more to lvl 20.
2 months would mean getting to lvl 12 to 15 in one month (keeping in mind the progression should slow as you get higher and higher) or somewhere around that wouldn't it? That seems very fast.
The fixing of the xp bug should make things interesting; I was very concerned seeing so many of us getting to 9 or 10 so quickly but it makes sense now with the discovery of the bugged script; things should be grinding to a halt for a lot of us.
A lot of the fun and challenge for me is at low/mid levels, struggling to become more powerful, knowing that you're still quite mortal, keeping in mind that a few lucky crits from the right foe can kill you.
On some servers, it drives me batty seeing dozens of lvl 20s running around that when you ask them some of the things they've accomplished, they say, 'well, I killed a lot of... stuff... and I did some, you know, quests... a lot' and I think to myself, 'all these PCs might be able to take on Drizzt or Artemis and give them a run for their money... they are very powerful and potent beings in the Realms... yeah, right..." especially when it took them a month or two to do it and they dont even know what a spell mantle is as a lvl 20 wizard.
True character development and understanding/knowing a PC should take time; in fact, I think it really is not possible without a lot of time.PC - Corwin Eska'las (Sun Elf pursuing the dream of becoming a Bladesinger)
Alt PC - Brevin Smoothands (meticulously groomed half orc bard swashbuckler... sort of... sings great, less fighting)

I say 6 months is good. I personally do not want to reach level 20 for a long long time. The insta-hero system of the OC is crazy.

would be nice to be a little more powerful.Vicho Stormson: "How dare you defy the supremacy of Talos! ... well I'll let you get away with it, this time."

I like the idea of six months. Putting that much time into a character really shows accomplishment, and I feel, makes the character more realistic. Level 20 characters are near-legendary beings, and well, legends take time. Besides, it's always nice to have something to look forward to.Lillapan Swobbles -- Hand-wavin' Goblin Fodder

Exactly. You need to span the time you level, do quests, rp, and develop over a longer time then a few months...especially on a world as epic and beautiful as Sundren.
