Silence! You were not listed as an influencial poster.

lol, nah, but I agree with you. I don't think steaky was being entirely serious though, as indicated by his stupid little tongue-face.

And trust me as an authority on this, because I'm an influence around here.

    ....And I'll stop now.

      Cool beans, LH!

But my characters seem to have been left out from the stats. Except I found Igneous in one instance. That's it though.

That's in the plans for version 2.0. Great feedback.

The current version of the GetClassByPosition function doesn't work with Custom PRCs, so Sean is working his magic to make it work another way. Characters with Ice Fury, Dreadmaster, and Thayan Knight levels won't be listed until he does that. The stats system is fully ready to support it, but we have to work around the Obsidian function for now.

I can go into a more technical explanation if you want one.

Looks pimp, I think you should probably allow for people to hide their names though. Sometimes you might not want the world to know you're a level 10 blackguard. Alot of devious paladins out there who like to screw with people <_<

Ooh, Didn't spot that, agreed, that'd sorta suck.

But that would be meta gaming. If someone says you're a blackguard and they couldn't possibly know in game, just call them on it. Tell that paladin you might be an evil, selfish, self absorbed prick, but unless he can prove you broke the law he can go shove it.

                        Nah, it isnt that simple.

I'm not gonna lie... if I knew you played a Blackguard, and I was a Paladin, I wouldn't be able to avoid having my RP influenced by that knowledge. I wouldn't openly act on it, but it would gnaw at the back of my brain, and I'd probably be looking for ways to figure it out IC, when I would have otherwise not been suspicious.

Best to avoid issues before they begin.

Thanks for the feedback, GBX. We'll evaluate it, and make a decision. V2 will introduce a lot of new functionality, such as personal pages, and the ability to hide your class, deity, gender, alignment, etc if desired will likely be in that update.

In the meantime, I fully expect everyone here knows the stats page is OOC info.

Yeah, metagaming isn't that simple, and its often done by accident. You can be thrust into a situation where you metagame whatever you do, as said LONG ago, I can't find that thread, its oooooollldd, but it has an example of it. Basically, you see someone doing something.

Person A is a necromancer hunter.

                              Person B Is a necromancer.

Person A sees Person B cast a necromantic spell.

Person A knows OOC that Person B is a necromancer.

Now, Person A can claim that person B is a necromancer, but he already has OOC information about it, and whatever good reason he has, its sort of metagaming, cuz hes most likely to be influenced by the fact that he has that OOC knowledge, even if he doesn't want to metagame.

Now, he can just walk away, but that OOC knowledge made him think he might be metagaming if he accuses the person of being a necromaner, so he avoids it. However, hes metagaming, cuz that OOC knowledge influenced his IC actions.

                              Something like that, anyways.

So yeah... Better to just avoid that stuff.

                                All,

Due to some really excellent infrastructure improvements from Saulus, we are now able to bring you real-time generated stats. This means that when you visit the stats page the information you're seeing is accurate as of that moment. This is an exciting feature because it allows you to know who's just logged on to the server. You'll also notice our level 30 testing characters no longer show, and custom PrCs DO show.

                                http://www.sundren.org/index.php?page=statistics

Real time stats generation does mean that the pages will take slightly longer to load, but the difference isn't very significant. This also opens the door for many other great improvements to come. Enjoy!
