They should only let DMs use wings if they're ever put in, and I believe they are, but I'm not sure. *Shrug.*

I don't really see a reason to restrict wings beyond the ones in the rules. There are only two classes supposed to get wings in NWN2, favored soul and RDD. And neither of those would get wings till very high level.

Wings come with obvious problems.... You're suddenly a freak.


The only real reason I see to deny wings is the lack of flight. With no one able to fly thanks to the game, you can't have winged freaks *Flys away* while mages, clerics, and other casters who could cast the flight spell, can't do anything about it. It requires too much disbelief for either winged people to deny themselves flight or to let them fly so that no one can even catch them.

Wow, that's quite the large list of additions! I look forward to having access to some of those new spells - the paladin list is rather lackluster in the current version of NWN2 (Especially levels 2 and 3). I'm sure all of those spells, classes, feats, and races represent a monumental amount of work of which the dev team should be proud.

The Bolt of Glory (Clr 6) caught my eye, though. One the characters I play in PnP D&D is a cleric with access to this spell, and the one you have listed is the outdated version from Complete Divine. The spell got quite a boost in the more recent Spell Compendium; namely its damage is now d12s with differing effectiveness as follows:
Max 15d12 (1d12 per level) vs undead, creatures from the negative energy plane, and evil outsiders
Max 7d12 (1d12 per 2 levels) vs creatures from the material or elemental planes and neutral outsiders
Good-aligned outsiders and creatures from the positive energy plane are unaffected.

It's important to make this distinction, otherwise the 6th level Bolt of Glory is outclassed in every way by the 5th level Flame Strike (Max 15d6 versus everything).

Concerning the new spells, will at least some of them be available from vendors? Things like Read Magic and Detect Magic should already be in our spellbooks actually, so some of the basic spells should be sold from the shops. Will loot drops include the new spells, and if you are doing that, will loot drops start including a larger variety of spells? I seem to be getting only 3 - 6th level scrolls as drops Greater dispelling, Greater heroism and Ethereal visage. Nothing else drops.

Not in a world where wizards exist. We need a source of spells other than just the 2 on level up.

Can't you scribe scrolls and distribute them amongst each other?

Yeah, I think spell distribution via scribing scrolls should be the most common way, because all you have to do is find someone who chose 'that other spell' as one of his 2 per level and swap some magics. For instance since my wizard is an illusionist when he gets to level 7 spells (it'll be awhile) the first 2 he will take are solipsism and shadow shield, so he is definitely going to have to find someone with Mordenkainen's Sword, and Ethereal Jaunt, and maybe Prismatic Spray. So I'll just hope that I can find someone with those spells .

Yeah, I don't think scrolls should be too common from vendors. Maybe stick a few powerful scroll vendors in remote locations, hard to reach, or requiring some kind of test to pass... but to have the exigo giving 6th level scrolls out like candy seems a little, well, not right.

Good news - All of the new spells will be scribable, and those that are appropriate can be used for brew potion and craft wand.
Bad News - (This only applies to the class "Wizard") Due to Obsidian's system, the following will happen: All newly rolled up wizards will have ALL 0 level spells in their spell book.
Exisiting Wizards will not and will have to add them the old fashioned way.
This is not an action by Sundren.
Please do not pester DMs for scrolls of the cantrips, to make you "even" with newer wizards.

Cantrips aren't that big 'nyways. New wizards can scribe 'em to you. And yeah, I see cantrip scrolls drop alot.

I'm not going to discuss plans for loot drops/store inventories in this thread. Thats handled by other people. Lets keep the discussion on the custom content itself and not other aspects of the server please.
