There will never be any kind of reset or re-level for people. I think Sundren player's are just a little too comfortable with getting their character's edited too easily. What you pick is what you get, if you want something different then that's a new character... it isn't a negotiation.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

I always had a soft spot for KhelgarCharacters:
Peridan Twilight, one-eyed dog of the Legion, deceased.
Daniel Nobody, adventurer and part time problem solver.
[DM] Poltergeist : If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge an intermediate deity's unbridled fury.

Echelon, you read my mind, though I have to say I'd also like to see a return of Ammon Jerro as well. Sand... <3Active
Reinamar Stormseeker - The bladestorm that must turn back the wind. Arkerym of The People, practitioner of the forgotten art, pariah.
Tyler Penleigh - Obligatory author insert, Red Blade Defender, sarcastic jerk, caring brother, loving fiancé, war criminal.
Retired/Dead
Eirimil Gaelazair (Dead)- Bitter. Caustic. Abrasive. Egocentric. Probably right. Found dead in the burned-out Viridale forest a few weeks after the survivors were able to sweep the area after the Bloodmaim offensive. Aside from his usual attire, an intricate music box was the only thing in his possession.

Yes of course, but at the rate they get out those fixes and now this announcement, it feels like they put alot more emphasis on more more more instead of the much desired fixes. Maybe they don't, but it certainly feels like itOriginally posted by GDwarf View PostTo those of you saying they should fix what they have now before adding anything, they are.
It's not like making an expansion pack somehow stops them from making patches.
As for doing a reset, I wasn't thinking that people should switch classes (well, maybe PrCs) rather, I was thinking about casters learning new spells, or people taking new spells/feats that better fit their character.
Fret and fear, for Europe is near.

Epic levels? New classes?! YESSSSSS!! *gets the effects of an instant sugar high*
This means an excuse to get another $200 in D&D books ^.^ I'm desperately hoping they bring back the Shifter prestege class. I'd love to see others like Mystic Theurge added too.---Jun Kolane

Fair enough.Originally posted by Saulus Mursadus View PostThere will never be any kind of reset or re-level for people. However, what happens in this situation:
You have a PC that, say, wants to be defensive fighter. The expansion pack adds new feats that would increase his HP/armour class. Allowing him to re-level would let him make his character better fit his idea (Rather then having to compromise based on what's currently available.)
I'd say that there's a difference between changing your mind and suddenly being given totally new options to work with, but evidently that's just me.

There's no Shifter anymore, only Master of Many Forms. It's a nerfed version of the shifter... even more so than NWN's shifter in relation to the PnP shifter.Originally posted by Jun Kolane View PostI'm desperately hoping they bring back the Shifter prestege class. Mystic Theurges... I prety much hope not. They would mean the end of wizards and clerics, everyone would go mystic theurge and have a slightly weaker (in levels) version of both classes at once. But then scratch that... with epic levels even that weakness is just a temporary setback.
I will also agree with Dwarf. There is a difference between playing a fighter and wanting to change into a wizard and playing a character based on current options and then having a bunch of new options (prestige class multiclassing, feats, maybe even subraces) you could use being introduced.Ashley, the social chameleon.

An analogy -
Your GM for your weekly pen and paper game buys one or two new supplements that introduce a number of new character creation and development options.
Does your GM -
A - Allow you to "rebuild" your current characters so that they can take advantage of the new material.
B - Make it available to NPCs and only for further character development.
I've been GMing for a very long time, and I can tell you this - it's NEVER been A.Mapper and Mad Kitten

I've played dozens of RPG systems, and no DM/GM/Storyteller/whatever ever had anything against people changing a few details on their characters. Sure, nothing like in a V:tM changing your clan to a different one, but if some davantage or the skill showed up that actually covered something the character wanted to do but couldn't, yeah, no one ever had a problem in over a decade.Ashley, the social chameleon.

@CrimsonTears
Then they've been spoiled rotten.
You have a different perspective and obviously met some very forgiving GMs - a few players I've GMd have moaned about this particular issue plenty, but then I just hurl dice at them or tell them to go find another GM.Mapper and Mad Kitten
