  • Bug or stupid player?

I tried to take the delivery quest of silks or something its were you take a locked box of illegal goods to an outpost. I did it once before with a charactor I removed and got a new area to travel too. This time I took the quest and must have clicked a wrong button so I have the quest but new area.

Can I still aquire that area else were? I hope so.

Another thing I ran across was trying the sewers quest I found lizard man or better yet they found me. Shooting arrows through walls in the west sewer and cutting me down along with another player (though I think they rolled lucky and got stablized). Maybe lizard men have a large area of perception and can see/sense us through door/wall and then take us on? Or they have a few illusionist and made a fake wall to give me a failed sense of safety.

I might have the wrong name but its the area west of the sewer bats and rats and the first door with lizard folk.

also a question on stablizing. If someone is say at -2 hit points and I cast cure light wounds that should stablize them? I tried it a few times did not seem to help. They kept slipping further down until rolled good.

    1. You can obtain the Mirakus Post map from another NPC, but you'll need to discover which one on your own.You can also use map follow (the little feet icon or .follow) to follow a PC there if you can convince someone to show you the way. (Rather nifty IMO)

    2. Lizardfolk (and other baddies) shooting through walls is a recent bug that has popped up with line of sight. There is a thread about it on the bug forum.

    3. Healing someone enough to bring them back up above 0 HP will save someone slowly bleeding to death. So at -2 a CLW spell would restore them enough to stop the bleeding.

Despite this, typing in the box while it says "undercommon" will still result in the language translating correctly to whatever language you first clicked. You don't have to select it twice.

Undercommon is the common spoke by underdark races. *edit* Some *edit* commoner merchants know it, most underdark merchants know it! Its a trade language to bridge the divide between 'lesser' races and drow

The duergar merchants in the underdark of chapter 5, Baldur's Gate II speak undercommon

"Undercommon" at least to my knowledge isn't known by most surface races, it's the language of the Underdark. Beings like the Drow, Duergar dwarf and the Svirfneblin gnome wll certainly know it. The average adventurer wouldnt have a clue unless they spent time down below which not many are willing to do. Need I mention Mr Mindflayer Anyways that's my 2 cents.

You can say English is the common language in RL, and undercommon is the "english" of the underdark. Not many surfacers know it, unless they have relationships with the underdark.
But I cant find that language in any of the books, and I have read many. Each race have theyr own language and about everyone refuses to learn the others language. But for an easyer way to set up stories/quests gamewise (decades ago for PNP I beleve), someone made up the common underdark language.
