Just because a Drow doesn't go "Praise Lolth!" doesn't mean they are a Drizz't clone or even good.

Read up a bit and you'll realize that Drow generally only serve Lolth for power, and don't exactly Love her like she was a mother. I don't think Drow are capable of love as a society

I think its just an age old PnP biased towards players that play Drow who are 'decent' in above society. Ppl tend to think "Your just in it for the ecl benifits", which is what usually happens. So this complex gets built up in the community who are against drow players, lol.

I dont see it as ppl thinking these guys are Drizz't clones, I see it as ppl seeing these players as players who dont want to live up to the hard life style of a Drow out of the Underdark. So they make a drow who's actually neutral and decent in society so they dont get killed right away. Thats great and all, Im not insulting these ppl or they're character concept, but its just thats what everyone does. I'd rather see an evil drow player than a N or G one coz thast just the common grounds they are based on.

Its like if Half-vampires were introduced (which omg I would cry for joy if that happened), which are generally (and they say this) evil! Does it mean they are always evil...no, but I garuntee you you'll see 'Alucard' clones all over the place that "Want to get back at the vampires who did this to him/her". Its not a bad concept, its just been over-done.

Ok thisis just my limited knowledge here, but to me Drow running on the surface don't seemed to even fit with Lolth unless they were attacking something like in a raid. There are other Drow gods beside Lolth. From everything that I've read on drow the are selfish, greedy, power hungry. I'm not saying that if told to praise Lolth John Q. Drow wouldn't I think they would only to not anger the (most likely priestess of Lolth) person telling them too and then turn their back and curse her. Personally I think that for Drow PCs wandering the surface and not just raiding Vhaerun (I'm sure I spelled that wrong) would be more acceptable.

Drow on the surface usually worship 1 of 2 gods. Ellistrae or Vhearun.

Ellistrae- Good drow Basically
Vhearun- they want to expand drow power on the surface. And their ultimate goal is to unite all elves and rule the world with drow as the top rung of the social ladder.

Unless of course they are just on the surface for a raid. Or young drow going through the bloodening ritual.

Half-vampires cant exi...what!? Then why do they have two types of templates for them in 2 legit DnD books? They describe that when a vampire drinks alot of blood, the ol' gears down there start to actually work again... seriously, thats what they said.
Some ppl do the Blade thing and say their mother was biten while she was pregnant, which I think is just lame. I'd rather vampires drinking tons of blood and having lots of sex, personally

The only Alucard reference I have is Castlevania, mind you. I wouldn't say Alucard is good. Sure he fights Dracula, but killing one enemy doesn't make you good. That's a personal vendetta. More Neutral since he isn't malicious to outsiders dealing with it.

Also, it could be considered insane. Has anyone ever thought about that? Imagine a guy runs around in the real world and wants to kill humans because he thinks they are too wicked to live because we pollute. Wouldn't people call him crazy?
