Actually, by *extreme* I meant not rping your build, not about how you make the build itself. But I'm pretty sure you get my point.

Right...Originally posted by Forlorn View PostThey *do* discourage powerbuilds and encourage rp builds. But its just I think you won't get punished for powerbuilding, as long as its not way too extreme. But if I were you, I'd build whats funnest for you, as long as you roleplay it out.
So you won't mind that the funnest build for me is an uber RDD/Frenzied berzerker/platemail wearing druid that's RPed as hating elves and has come to Sundren to purge the area of their taint, right?
Don't answer that btw; it's a joke.PC - Corwin Eska'las (Sun Elf pursuing the dream of becoming a Bladesinger)
Alt PC - Brevin Smoothands (meticulously groomed half orc bard swashbuckler... sort of... sings great, less fighting)

Yea it is hard for druids not to wear metal in nwn 2, but if you wonder about the dogma behind druids and their deities, Mielikki is the only deity in FR that allows her druids to wear metal armor..Originally posted by GodBeastX View PostPowerbuild all you want, as long as you RP it out as you build it. Low Charisma, Low Wisdom, etc etc.
As for druids with metal, I think I read that was dependant on the Druid organization. It's sort of difficult not to wear metal in NWN2 because of the whole "Every armor above medium is metal" deal.
Actually in nwn 2 there aren't many other different types of materials, than metal for medium and up, but that doesn't mean that none can be adapted.. How about a darkwood breastplate ? Dragonhide full plate and so on.
There are some really excellent suggestions about different armor materials, in DMG 3.5.

Well welcome to my world.Originally posted by Ithildur View Post
well... looks like I'm definitely going to have to rethink my PC then, as I had him planned as rather gimped for (optional) RP reasons, thinking that the environment/players here would discourage powerbuilds and encourage RP builds even if they were gimped, but that doesn't sound like that going to be the case.
Not very fun when people roll powerbuilds and start RPing bullying personalities and you can't do much but get stomped on because you gimped your build intentionally.
I generally play characters that others like to step upon or push around, and i do so, because it can be fun to RP.. Not most of my builds, aren't really powerful many because i think that gets boring to RP..
For me, having a char that actually has to group with others, and travel with them, so you don't get beaten up by Goblin bullies, can be fun, if you like that kind of RP.. But to each his/her own.

Hmm, seems some people are getting uppity about powerbuilds.....
But I think you have to keep in mind that this IS a roleplaying server first and foremost. If you so happen to have your character be an uber-sweet-orc-crushing-l33t-whatever, please, for the sake of the rest of us, have SOME sort of background to do that with! And you have to keep in mind that not everyone is perfect in this world--even the uber characters have to have some downsides, because that is what makes a believable character (unfortunately, most of the time these types of characters' flaws turn out to be a harsh, abrasive personality).
If you want to make a super build, be my guest. Selene has taken a few paladin levels, and is planning on going the rest sorc, but not because I was trying to powerlevel her. She is a servant and protector of all things magical, and I felt that this was the best course of action to follow with the classes presented to me (because they don't actually HAVE a Knight of the Weave PrC). But I'm not trying to make her invincible, as she has several glaring character flaws (for one, scared to death of spiders, and she is afraid of her growing power).
Bottom line--this IS an RP server afterall. Keep that in mind when playing, please.Last edited by Sylvanas_Kathar; 02-24-2007, 01:37 AM."The Weave is the source of all magic in Faerun, and I would give my life to protect it!"
