What sort of character are you playing? I know the area has gotten a bit tougher lately and of course we are expected to have friends along, but perhaps a bit of optimization will help.

Also certain strategies might help as well. There are ways to sneak up on them little buggers from a distance, and you can get arrows and bolts of goblin bane in the Trade Tier which are incredibly useful. Heal packs and potions will help for sure. Also, you should be sure that you are always rested before engaging in another fight.

I've actually got to the point where I'm no longer dying at last. A single levelup was all it took and the new spells it brought with it. I am playing a Spirit Shaman, and a combination of barkskin, bull's strength and flame weapon (none of which I had before level 4) has tipped the balance into my favour.

Admittedly, I brought a lot of this on myself, I am playing a tank in medium armour

The sacrifices we make for roleplay

Edit: Also I found several people to come with me. Cheers guys!

I'm GMT+1 - though I mostly run into the same problem when I do get to play (been a tad busy of late so not on as much as I want)

I have to say I had some (late) evenings where there was fun to be had...
Annaleen Wiltenholm-There's always something to smile about.
Chani Kalera- Intimidation is the new diplomacy. *looms*
Eleanor "Bloody Elle" Lark - Why is the rum always gone?
Yolanda Brown - If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. But unless life also gives you water and sugar, your lemonade is going to suck.
        Astrid Hammerhand - Och!

Right click your character, use the Sundren menu, and click "Find Players", and you might not end up being so lonely.

...Unless it really is devoid of people. I've never seen that, personally.

You know what's MORE frustrating? Logging on while another group is on a DM quest and having to do nothing because you can't find/RP your way to that group and join. XD

I generally only play one character. I have a priest in my vault somewhere that might be able to help the new guys.

Sehron has his hands in a lot of different pots though, so I rarely have time to play my dwarf.

If you are waiting for somebody, you can look for Sehron and talk to him to pass the time until a group can be gathered for you level. I will help where I can.

              Well, you've probably missed it

I know how to use the Sundren menu, but on the day I wrote that there were only 2 other people online in the space of several hours, and both were high levels. There's just no fun to be had tagging along with a group 5/6 levels higher than you.

As it is, I have spent many happy hours adventuring with people now, and have reached a happy point where my character has a few regular friends.

I'm very pleased to hear that. IMO, that's what Sundren is all about.

Well apart from that other server The Forgotten Realm I'd say sundren is second or third in terms of being populated. I hardly never see the server down to 5 players, unless its like 4 in the morning. Maybe you're logging on during hours where everyone is asleep or at work. During evenings my time (EST) theres always at least 15 people on from what I see on gamespy. But in any case, I'm a newbie here myself so if you are and you want to have a traveling companion feel free to send me a tell. I'm not sure my character name yet, but if you look on the player list my account is Wayferer.

I'm actually dead at my computer right now. So when someone comes and resses' me from revision and stupid ISP then I'll be around more.

In that case I can make sure the reaper pays Kangleton a visit.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

Ah, but what will be The Reaper's instrument this episode? Will it be a bottle of blowing bubbles? Or perhaps a dustbuster?
