Sounds pretty cool, I think this will encourage better role playing.Lauan - knight of Thay " I have no fear, and death is merely an inconvenience to me. I do not die until ordered to do so, I do not fall until every last bit of life has left me. I stand tall, proud, a Thayan knight."

Hey Grunt,
I think you misinterpreted that reply. Special races are now reserved for our Roleplayers of the Month as a reward for great contributions towards the roleplay community in Sundren.
For your request in particular, you could just pretend your gnome was raised in the woods with forest gnomes, or he's a nomadic type, etc. However, by blood, he's a regular gnome.
We appreciate the effort in a unique character, but we have to keep the number of special races that are visible in Sundren to a minimum. Thanks for understanding."Microsoft has to move the Reply All button further away from the Reply button. It's the computer equivalent of putting the vagina so close to the sphincter."

Abstaining from OOC comments! outrageous! OOCness is an integral part of my roleplay!
On a more serious note, roleplaying creates two separate entities: the character, and the player. I don't think the player's comments have anything to do with the character's roleplay, and thus don't think that OOC comments should be a criteria.Val Evra - Wandmaker and Wanderer

Sean, I don't think that thread addresses the question. It states that closed classes need DM approval, but does that DM approval include the winning of RPoTM, since this is a newer feature?Pyras: Red Wizard of Thay, High Arcanist of Illusion, Master of the Enclave's Knight Commander.

Oh for Pete's sake. Yes, classes still need approval. You can apply for them, and the DM's will decide. Races are for RpotM only. I'm assuming that classes have to be approved regardless of whether or not people win. Otherwise, if every joe picked a warlock or RDD every month, we'd be drowning in them before too long. Thus, to keep the balance, DM's will be choosing who they want to play restricted classes.
This is just how I interpret the rules however. I could be completely wrong.Characters:
Peridan Twilight, one-eyed dog of the Legion, deceased.
Daniel Nobody, adventurer and part time problem solver.
[DM] Poltergeist : If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge an intermediate deity's unbridled fury.

Close, but not 100%.
Read it again folks. It says Warlock requires an application( and hence a RPOTM award).
It says the others need IC RP, it doesn't mention an application(so no RPOTM either). Hence if it didn't mention an application.. why would you think you need one?
I do believe this post DOES answer the question, and quite well.
Why in the world would you think the classes from Stormlord to Dreadmaster would require a application or RPOTM? We have never said that nor implied it anywhere. We saidThe following classes can only be accessed AFTER IC actions.

How do you tally the votes?
Pretend there are three characters: Alice, Bob, and Carol.
Alice gets 12 1st place votes and 8 runner up votes.
Bob gets 9 1st place votes and 6 runner up votes.
Carol gets 3 1st place votes and 9 runner up votes.
Does this mean Alice gets first place and Carol gets runner up?
Or does Carol win runner up?
