  • Character Concepts You Pondered While the Server Was Down

So, my characters typically start as silly concepts that could end up growing into something else. If I'm not laughing, I'm probably not having fun. If I'm not having fun, I'd prefer to be doing something entertaining. So here are two concepts I came up with while I was bored and staring blankly at the RPserver chatroom. If anyone else has any, feel free to contribute. Or else!

Human, Ranger. Character's inta three theings: huntin, fishin, and cheap lager beer with, like, rice in it and sheeit. Also: gropin women that're way outta his league, heh-heh. Maybe a gnome-tosses, when he's in p'lite comp'ny. Anyhow, he'd be speakin some sorta, well--he'd be talkin the mix of Appalacian an' Pennsylvania Dutch that I did grow up with.

Battlecry: "You best red up for some pain, cause your time is all!"

Gnome, Bard. His performances would not be with instruments--oh, no. He'd be a raunchy, in-your-face stand-up comic. If he doesn't get executed by the campfire once a week until permadead, I'd feel like I'm doing something wrong.

Battlecry: Varies. Often comes in the form of telling his fellow heroes, in the sort of detail only a Gnome could imagine, what the monsters said about their mothers.

Sun Elf Bard: The very essence of chaos. Creates trouble just because he can, and writes a song about it later. His spells center around the purpose of messing with others' minds (confusion, fear, etc.)

I am thinking of naming this character 'Puck' after the character in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
    Your friendly neighborhood drunk

Team play characters that would get me and a volunteer banned from the server:

Name: Gork. Race: Half-orc. Class: Barbarian. He's cunningly brutal. And made for fighting.

Name: Mork. Race: Half-orc. Class: Ranger/Rogue. He's brutally cunning. Also made for fighting.

After I saw the new death rules:

Wiet Maej (Cleric, Human): Specializes in healing. Attempts to gain access to Raise Dead / Rez as fast as possible, and gain a lot of gold to go with it. He then goes around with a somehow established posse and rezzes any poor adventurer he finds...possibly for a price.

I have now decided against it. Mostly.

            Yay, Warhammer!

I thought of doing a largely delusional Diviner, who, at higher levels, would go around predicting the fortunes of other people. Most of his fortunes would consist of death.

At lower levels, it would go something like this: "You! I see something in you... you will die. Eventually."
You can get more with a kind word and a gun than you can with just a kind word.
            ~Al Capone

Oshala Jr'ein ~the woman of a thousand (continuously recognized) faces.
            Aljd Gray
~"There are six people in this tavern!" The patrons look at Aljd. "...That's one less than seven."

I thought about making a Space Marine.
                Names Taallic.

Only time can save the world now.
                Immortality is your last hope.

Lawful Evil Human Favored Soul or Blackguard (or both). But then I could find much political roleplay or roleplay outside of dungeons yet.

Paladin/Rogue/Shadowdancer, probably Human. Yeah, thats right, a stealthy, sneaky, trap-using, unorthodox Paladin. Really, I guess he's like Batman, since he is Lawful Good but also almost like an assassin in the way he fights. He would be obscenely cruel and not polite at all, with a vulgar personality, developed through too much time spent alone while surrounded by death, having to make terrible jokes only to keep his sanity somewhat composed.

                              Also,

Bard/Assassin/Something, probably Aasimar. Stalks those who are reputed to have done bad deeds, foreshadowing their deaths through disturbing musical outburts, and eventually closing in for the kill. Later, perhaps around the campfire, he would recite poems and sing songs of justice being served to those who deserved only the most gruesome of fates; who, really, were his own victims.
Pyras: Red Wizard of Thay, High Arcanist of Illusion, Master of the Enclave's Knight Commander.

Currently taking apprentices, and conducting research.
