    Yawn.
Hey no fair! I could play a shitty generic vampire clone without acheiving total failure if I wanted to. Can Dwarves be vampires, or what about insane halfling-dwarf things?

If this changes, they'll take note. Just as they would if blackguards were hanging around by the church or something. Presumably there are IC reasons for there being a floor of zombies, a floor of necromancers, etc, rather than a bunch of these things found all over the place? Well, to add to it, in case that wasn't enough, it was blamed on "Adventurers pulling the creatures out the front door." Because all creatures just sit around waiting to assault parties in pairs and die, only to return and wait some more. These factions DO leave their abode, and when they do you do see them around.

Very well; I'll keep that in mind if that sort of thing happens again.

Oh yeah, then there was the time I zoned into the Necropolis and got viciously manhandled by literally twelve to fifteen hungry bog zombies that were cluttered around the entrance. I was dropped right in the center of them so I couldn't move and had my bow out, so my character auto-fired and ALL of them got attacks of opportunity.

I sent a tell from the Forest of Eternal Night to GBX and he laughed.

              I cried.

I have been ganked at the transition also.........a lot of fun!

And if you were ever to hang out around the fire with some of the higher levels and actually listen, it can be fun and very funny with some of the stuff they come up with. I have a higher level, well, he is 12th and I have had him forever, but also two lower levels and I have fun with all of them.

I admit I grind sometimes, but I also RP, probably about forty/sixty. However, the big difference is when you grind, you can actually make it fun and RP. The other day I was with a party with my lower level ranger and we RPed the whole Viridale thing. He kept stopping and kneeling and checking tracks, tracking different gnoll and goblin groups throughout the area and all that. It was fun. We also used tactics based on our character attributes to better defeat the mobs that came at us.....we didn't just rush in and say, Die, Die, Die!

What GBX said is true, nobody is perfect, but if you respect the people around you and try and just have fun, that is most of the battle, IMO.

And I am one of those that complained about someone just running ahead, the person did it to me at least five times, twice in one day. I hate when people do it and I never do it, just very poor form!

I have to say that the nomenclulture seems to have gotten off for the word "grind"....

Seems that people are using grind to describe all adventuring and as the definition of Farming.

Farming is defined as repeatedly travelling across a particular zone in order to kill spawning creatures for benefits of XP and/or gold.
I would desribe Grinding as such
Grinding, is fighting spawns in a continuous fashion to meet some game mechanic goal. usually also involving farming, but not always.
It is perfectly fine to get a party and explore a dungoen once and leave.... or am I missing some cultural shift of the sever and we all need to spend 90% of our time at a camp fire to be good players?

                              Shut up grinder! GAHD!

                              Just kidding.

Here are my definitions of "Grinders".

                              - Leap Frogs parties [STAMPED]
                              - Knows the respawn times of encounters [STAMPED]
                              - Rushes to certain bosses when server reboots [STAMPED]
                              - Walks in a circle through dungeons [STAMPED]
                              - Says a party comment about something affecting his/her exp gains [STAMPED]
                              - Parties with whatever race/creed/being will help him/her get that added exp [STAMPED]
                              - Gets to zone where a group of people are, and his/her first words is "Who is up for killing undead?!" like your going to a house party and not facing possible death. [STAMPED]
                              - Doesn't know jack about the lore of the server because can't be bothered to read anything about the lore on the forums or isn't ever in DM events [STAMPED]

I could go on and on

I understand. The main problem that I had with your post is you said high level "people", not characters. And since you just did a nice sweeping generalization to catch everyone who was high level, you were effectively calling a whole cadre of players assholes.

Anyhow, my first reply was overly harsh; I apologize.
