  • Schild Mountains.

Alright. I think the few issues I had, have been resolved with some communication with certain people. (Attaining a group for said dungeon.)

The lower level powerbuilds grinding on the mountain patrols will be fixed soon, as well as lower level powerbuilds going inside and grinding there too for insane xp.

This thread can be deleted if so wished.

The ones on the outside aren't the ones to kill for us high levels. Go on the inside. At 16/17 with a full group, I was getting about 41 exp per kill. The ones outside gave me 4 exp per kill, but the inside ones were 41. It's a massive increase.

Yes I killed some inside as well, however spells run dry quickly if you don't have a full group of melee to keep the damage flowing consistently.

Running low on spells then having to fight your way back down through critters that give you 8 xp... or 4 since you're 17. Is not feasible. When you need a group of 16+s or near that to get consistent xp inside.

The first time an area comes out, getting in a large group is easier. I don't think this will be possible normally until weekends.

I was invited into a lower level group that was grinding up and down the mountain a few times before I joined (High risk xp total crap). Then later a higher level group started, I just didn't merit an invitation.

The simple fact is, theres not enough level 16+s that want to group IC, without someone just getting left out as well. As this happened to me just last night.

I got in the cave one time, killed one guy worth 50xp, then server crash.

      Later that night.
Kaldaris, Ignus and Deidrick took off. Ignus isn't even close to level 16. However I was just not allowed to join. Now how am I going to consistently have access to that 50xp per kill if I have to burn so many spells with lower levels just to get up the mountain because there aren't enough higher levels that will group with each other for IC reasons?

It also seemed rather screwy that I was all for DMs being able to just level up their characters when others were against it merely because I'd hate to see a DM grinding his character up, then Deidrick just excluded me from the group.

In short this new area has been rather upsetting for a level 16, which is the minimum level required.

Honestly, this isn't meant to be a bitching post. Just telling you that as a level 16, this area has failed as far as grouping and xp goes and I was on most of the weekend.

Level 15 nets me about 10xp from the guys outside on the mountain and anywhere from 30 xp to at the hardest 62 xp for the guys inside.

You also have a 20% exp penalty for multiclassing.

I've only gone up once, but I have to say, I have no idea how lower levels are spending time up there.

Also, for once, mass AoE spells are not going to allow mages to run and solo areas. This requires a well-balanced higher level party.

The area will get tweaked. Grinders aren't going to get much else than XP as we don't have the loot tables in yet. And if I catch people grinding or just going for the spawns on the outside before hiding in the camp.. well lets just say a stray arrow might lob them in the face.

            Clarify: This constitutes what, exactly?

It was my impression that going out and killing anything was grinding.

Repeatedly going across an area or multiple dungeons for no RP reason other than killing creatures/xp/items is considered grinding. Especially when there is little to no RP.

My group was full of people who were level 15 or lower. It's not about using your spells on the way up (which you can just rest outside the entrance anyways after clearing your way up), it's about buffing the main tank. When I went up, I just gave Tamryn buffs and then cast a spell here and there, then we rested outside the entrance, buffed her again, went inside and let her and the other people mainly take on the stuff. Buffing the melee fighters can allow even low levels to do just fine on their own, allowing you to conserve most of your spells as the melee person owns everything.

Yes, the first group I got inside the mountain cave with was with a low level group. Then server crash. We popped back up, my tanks were without my buffs, carnage ensued.

I also think resting just outside an enemy stronghold to be... rather cheesy RP but thats just me. Its supposed to be 8 hours. I would not lay around sleepily for 8 hours just outside of the Veritas's front doors.

I think deepshades means that it is really hard for Sylloven to find any party that could go with her when "she wants to go" due to lack of large lower level player groups during off peak hours or from exclusion by high level players. Which means to solo it, seems like a negative return since the earnings are low but the penalties are extremely high. That is what I gathered, but I might be wrong.

Hmmm... I have no clue why people talk about solo play when Sundren is supposed to be party-play! Don't be surprised if you get stomped trying to solo stuff.

If there aren't enough PCs around to get a good group, don't go dungeon crawling -- go RP with the lowbies! You still get XP.

Nope, Solo play isn't even what I'm talking about. Well aware of Sundren's solo policy.

Thats more or less the gist of it and "When I wanted to go" was near the full ACTUAL time since the area came out until Sunday night. Probably over 48 hours, most of that time I was logged on and ready to go.

Krislin is level 11. Went with a group to explore on opening day, got iced on the third group of spawns outside (well, Tessa did, as Tomur will tell you), and TheId (I believe) sent us some IG text saying we'd lost heart in our effort to explore.

I took that to heart. RP-wise, Krislin has no reason to go up this mountain. He feels overwhelmed by the force up there, and does not jump to align himself with the good guys killing the bad guys just to put himself in ridiculous harm's way.

And he hasn't. If certain people were to invite him (who shall remain nameless) he'd go without question. If he were paid, he'd probably go.

But right now he's content to sit in camp and watch, as he told Tamryn, because not having a particularly strong opinion about the Veritas rebellion doesn't mean he doesn't want to know what happens to it.

And he enjoys calling that Erebus guy Gary.

Yup Tessa got raped, but She was only there to have a gander.. She has no IC reason to go again... yet... but she does pop into the palisade to find out how the siege is going...

However Tim has been up there, and contributed to the group more effectively.. However again he does not have a IC reason to go again unless his help is requested.. .

As side from that, the added RP possibilities of the faction being there (As in not in the background and only on paper) adds a lot more to sundren. And the area is really well made...
