Strange class mix

That's what I really like about 3.5 D&D, there's so many creative ways to build your character! Let's say you want an archer character, you could try:

-Pure Fighter, with tons of archery-oriented feat (best damage, no fun side stuff)
-Pure Ranger, with a rawr-pooch and some spells (good damage and lots of fun side stuff)
-Fighter/Wizard/Arcane Archer, with arrows that go BOOM and other fun arrow techniques (great damage, decent flavor)
-Monk with Zen Archery and feats (for yummy oriental flavor)

And many more! And all would be viable. Isn't D&D great?!

I reviewed the word oriental's meaning on Merriam-Webster and it seems that in the english language it's used for Asia (With the "sometimes offensive" prefix? Huh what?), but in french "orient" means "East" as the opposite of "occident" which means "West", not a reference to Asia. On Toril, Kara-Tur corresponds to the feudal/mystical east setting, located to the east of Faer?n.

If your reaction was more about you not liking feudal/mystical east settings, well, to each his own huh. That's why there's Katanas and Greatswords, Darts and Shurikens.

The reason I took the one level of fighter was that I thought it was rather silly for my character to not know how to use all that martial stuff when it says that sorcerers have more time to concentrate on combat prowess as opposed to wizards.

That in mind I decided to take at least one level of fighter since I figured my character had been adventuring long enough to figure out that stuff. Also I didn't want to go Eldritch Knight because there were a mess load of them on the server. If you'll look at sorcerers, there are very few, and even less pure. I think I'm the purest one on the server and I'm not even totally sorcerer.

If you're going fighter sorcerer you'll likely end up going EK... which is fine but its over played in my opinion because of its super powerfulness.

I'll have 2 9nth circle spells instead of three. That is the price I'll pay if I ever get to lvl 20. Its worth it though.

In the end just do what you like.
