  • Strange class mix

So my current RP personality is on purpose a Fighter(AC/Con based with high CHA) and Sorc. I thought it would be an interesting road to go down, and it in character for sure, silly girl that she is.

My point for the thread, was just me being curious as to what others think of it?

You'd remember Val if you had seen him in-game, trust me. My first encounter with Val involved him holding spoons on his forehead like horns. XD

But Scavar, what kind of comment do you want for Immy? Roleplay tips? Character-building tips? Muffin-making expert opinions?

If its what you want to play then go for it!

Takhla at present is a 9th level Cleric and a 2nd level bard. Is that the best build for a PC? I would say not but am I having fun running her? You bet I am and that in the end is what counts.

Hehe I don't want any kind of comment, and I remember Val, in fact I'm with Val right now.

I just wanted to see what people thought of it

Fighter / Sorcerer is just fine and isn't that strange at all. Albeit, Eldritch Knight is more useful as it allows you to take one class to increase both fighter and sorcerer levels, but Fig/Sor is just fine as well (Sylloven is also 14 Sorcerer / 1 Fighter atm and might be going more fighter levels).

Isn't that strange. Some of us have really strange combinations.

I have a fighter that is 10th level fighter and 2nd level wizard right now. Just make sure you take practiced spell caster, it helps a lot. And, if you don't want to have to take your armor off everytime you want to cast a spell, get still spell also (I think that is the feat?).

But like everyone else said, just go with it and have fun!

Yep, Still Spell is a metamagic Feat. It does however boot the stilled spell up one level.

So a Stilled Mage Armor will take up 2nd level slot instead of a first. Just to keep in mind.

Unless you have a class alignment conflict for an RP server such as Sundren, there isn't really a wrong combination. It's just the way you play it.

Depending on your emphasis on swinging your weapon using brute strength or finesse I would recommend Eldritch Knight as well.

Save up, there's a shield in Sundren that actually lowers ASF which will allow you to wear heavier armor if you need to or just armor. Otherwise I would suggest casting all your buffs before combat should you decide that's the way you want to play your heroine.

, i doubt fighter/sorc is weird compared to my old char in sundren.

                        Fighter/DC/Bard/Harper O_O.

maybe I shouldnt have taken spell penetration? /shrug

That's what I really like about 3.5 D&D, there's so many creative ways to build your character! Let's say you want an archer character, you could try:

-Pure Fighter, with tons of archery-oriented feat (best damage, no fun side stuff)
-Pure Ranger, with a rawr-pooch and some spells (good damage and lots of fun side stuff)
-Fighter/Wizard/Arcane Archer, with arrows that go BOOM and other fun arrow techniques (great damage, decent flavor)
-Monk with Zen Archery and feats (for yummy oriental flavor)

And many more! And all would be viable. Isn't D&D great?!
