Concerning Tiefling

I think the what is trying to be conveyed is the general feeling of distrust and fear is missing because it seems the majority of players choose to befriend without question, thus diluting a major aspect of the race: their evil blood line.


As it stands now, no one seems to care that the offspring of a devil/fiend/whatever is sitting next to them. To me a seasoned adventurer would act on the side of caution and would have learned to not take anything at face value, especailly something with fiendish blood.

To each their own I guess. I just hope I never get killed by fellow adventurers who feel they are best friends with a tiefling they just met.

It's not even that widespread. The problem is people have that black & White view. "Tiefling, let's murder it!!" Then someone stops them "OH MAN! You're all TIEFLING LOVERS! I'm gonna complain on forums...".

I logged into a tiefling. I only met 1 wierdo who was trying to befriend my tiefling. And my Tiefling killed her. So.... I think this whole thread is people remembering crap that happened weeks ago or making a generalized statement that every is acting that way. Trust me, my 4 points happened FAR more often that Tiefling lovers.

Well, I have come across 3 tielfings so far, all at the miner camp. Each time, I chase them out. I dont try and murder them. Just remove them from my presence. I think it makes perfect sense based off of the background of tieflings.

As for black and white issues, some people do react in such a way. It might be the only way they know to react to something that is otherwise, alien to them. "How is one supposed to act around a half-devil, horned, cloven foot creature?" I have no idea that is based in real life, so I try to imagine it and then act it out.

I guess we will see what happnes.

Everyone has their own thoughts and beliefs. Period.

If my character has a reason to be nice to a tiefling, then that's my business, and no one elses.

No one can tell me how my character should or should not act, think, or be.

Lallendos I don't see anyone saying they trust tieflings and other then you the other staff I see posting says everyone can have their own opinion on how their characters react to tieflings. Also your threats of perma killing people and calling them retards because they don't play the same as you, does nothing but go back to the giving players a bad view on you. If the player wants to give the tiefling a chance let them they will either get screwed over by the evil tiefling or might find a companion.

Other then the server rules no one has to play in any certain way, we have the rules to use as guide lines but other than that we all have our own free will and opinions. Yes its good for a player to check with a dm before doing something in their events to make sure the dm is ready but in normal play we will play our characters the way they were ment to be IC, even if that means they might give a tiefling a chance to prove themselves.

If a DM sees a tiefling with the a group of people and wants the tiefling to betray them they could always send a tell suggesting it for the tiefling if it would make sense for their alignment. Could end up with a mini hunt the tiefling event if they go with it.

I also don't see why all you people are suddenly caught up on hating a certain race because of its blood in my experience with nwn 1 and 2 humans are the ones I had come across that have the most evil in their race next to drow and monster races. An evil human is a lot more common for someone to come across than a tiefling since they aren't the biggest race out there.

I'm not saying love tieflings or hate them, I agree with GBX theres always a gray area. As for the known agendas of alignments, how does anyone know what your alignment is? Someone could be lawful evil doing good in front of a group of people while doing their evil in secret to throw off the "good" people who would attack them for it.

So far GBX has had a pretty clear understanding of what tieflings are. Also to whoever called them half demons/devils they are more like 1/4 most tieflings can't trace their blood lines back to the exact devil/demon who's blood they have or even know which kind of blood is in them.

Malaclypse wouldn't trust a tiefling any more than he'd trust a Helmite, but he'd swear black and blue to other people that they ought to . Though he's probably a bad example

It is one problem with this, and it interferce with my roleplay for my character Galiana Eld'zan. She loves to learn of heritage and meetng people of demonic and celestial heritage. As she has studied the heritage for many years, and she even learned the infernal language. (Thou any other character of mine would simply just attack the tiefling).

I think this thread is going on long enough. It's been laid out how NPCs will react. Judge from there.
