Call to Testers (We are Beta After All) - Crash on Create?

Do players still crash when they make new characters? Please let me know

Without fail, regardless, I Always crash on loading to the OOC room. Character creation, yes I crash, old characters, crash without fail... It's a little annoying... Kinda... I miss the old OOC room...

I always crash too. Hell. I crash every other time I load into the PW.

I wonder if the small area size of the OOC room is causing any crashes.

yes EVERYTIME, if the server restarts, then the first time i log with a character the game crashes me, reboot the game log with same character and its okay. I would think that it has something to do with the ooc room, it seems to crash when the server trys to move you into the world.

It also may be that there is almost no delay, make it like, a 20 second wait before it actually boots you into the world, or you can touch some object that boots you in as well... That's what I'd do anyways, I'm not a programmer, but I'd think extending the delay a bit might help...

Faces like that is why we don't have it.

The Old OOC room for us was functionally better, but what sucked was, players stood around in there chatting OOC all the time. The reason you guys don't have the old room is obvious, we didn't want you staying in it

Kass- should we put up a ventrillo server? GBX pushes for it, and if an informal poll says do so, i'll run it past Saulus (we are the 2 big holdouts for TeamSpeak).

BTW, I have learned there are Denial Of Service attack weaknesses in TeamSpeak. This is why I now waver on that.

I feel that Ventrillo is far superior to Team speak, having used both it's definitely my personal preference. And it would be nice if I could get out of my friends vent and stop having Sundren people running through it all the time. So my vote would be a definite yey.

Same with me, every time the server resets causing us to go into the ooc room again I crash there, then the next time i log in I'm at the area i logged out from.

Hmmm... I'm going to look into it. This is too big of a issue for it to be coincidence. I've never crashed, but it could be load times versus your load times.

I prefer Ventrilo, except you need a license to have more than 6 people in, which kind of sucks.

No it doesn't "suck" it makes it useless.
