Can barbarians get some love next? Maybe so they are actually worth anyone making a non-dwarven one?

Agreed! I've never thought of Warlocks as something that needed any help. Unlimited 9d6 irresistible damage is pretty scary already if you ask me! +50% damage on top of that seems excessive to say the least.Originally posted by Torgar View PostCan barbarians get some love next? And yes, I realise warriors can do just as much or more damage, but high AC and/or DR can protect against physical damage, whereas hardly anyone is capable of defending against magic damage.UTC+8

9D6 (average of 31.5) once per round vs any melee based fighter with 4 attacks per round and an average damage of between 25-35 with crits tripled or quadrupled. It's hardly comparable. Allowing an epic warlock to add a whole 16 points of damage per round hardly seems scarily overpowered.
Sure, high ac can protect from a sword but any melee antics will slush a warlock before they've gotten two or three blasts off (if they succeed the concentration checks of course).
That aside it would be nice to see some barbarian loving. Give em sneak! It is the greatest of all mistakes to do nothing because you can only do a little - Do what you can.

Only the first of which usually hits :P But yeah, I have to admit if its only once per round it's not as scary as I thought. I have been killed plenty of times by Warlocks but then again I've been killed plenty by Fighters too hehOriginally posted by Doubtful View Post9D6 (average of 31.5) once per round vs any melee based fighter with 4 attacks per roundUTC+8

It's irresponsible to compare damage from one skill and not the immense amount of utility and crowd control the Warlock has. Apples and oranges, dude.9D6 (average of 31.5) once per round vs any melee based fighter with 4 attacks per round and an average damage of between 25-35 with crits tripled or quadrupled.

True, although the damage point was brought up in response to a comment on the perceived high damage values. Comparing the base damage potential of one class to the base damage potential of another is hardly a dangerous thing to do, both classes have ways and means.of becoming more dangerous to opponents.
Apples and oranges yes, but they're still both fruit. We're not talking apples and quantum microprocessors. It is the greatest of all mistakes to do nothing because you can only do a little - Do what you can.

This is a warlock thread, but I may as well post this.
I found a fix for uncanny dodge while I was looking into Barbarian problems, and it should handle the bullshit bug from obsidian. It's a server side plugin that will enable it's functionality (Bypass the bug).
That should be a good first start.

Considering that, far as I know, Warlocks are still an approval-only class, I don't see why Fey-pact should stay off the table after you have the Lower Planes done and working (and probably had a break to look at other stuff for a while). I imagine part of the approval process for Warlocks will expand to include what kind of pact they'll have, so if you guys do eventually allow fey-pact the numbers can still be kept down.
Of course, if I wanted to play a fey-pact warlock, I'd be more interested in Unseelie Sidhe, Redcaps and Sluagh than Fairy Godmothers and... no, that's the only really good fey I can think of right now. :P Even kindly Brownies can become menacing Bogarts if you piss them off.Presea De'Ombre - Fist of the Broken

I'm starting to think Sundren Warlocks are not meant to be much like 3.5 Warlocks when it comes to description. Warlocks are more supernatural than demonic or diabolic. Not all warlocks make a pact. Their powers can come from "wild or fey." They are actually a pretty diverse class (at least in Pen and Paper).Originally posted by Tamha View PostConsidering that, far as I know, Warlocks are still an approval-only class, I don't see why Fey-pact should stay off the table after you have the Lower Planes done and working (and probably had a break to look at other stuff for a while). That being said, the idea that they've all made deals with devils is more of "commoner" thinking. They are meant to be kind of exotic or creepy.
As a player of a 20th level warlock the idea that Warlock > Wizard/Sorcerer isn't true. I think they are restricted more due to the fact they are supposed to be kind of exotic, not because of power level.Byrun - Wandering Swordsman

For the record, Caelryth would have been a lot more fun turning enemies into chickens rather than mauling them as a Pit Fiend. I will also admit, he would've abused this power to its fullest.Originally posted by GodBeastXThe changing into the form of a fiend will become a bonus feat, not an invocation. Word of Change was meant to polymorph enemies into chickens and the like as a baleful spell. I see no reason not to leave it that way.Byrun - Wandering Swordsman
