Heh, its not about monsters, its just that theres no counter to divine or positive energy weapons at all... and divine weapons at least should be very very rare to find..

"That is part of the idea".
But, no, that shouldn't be why i'm posting.

Is it a bug? Or is there just nothing in D&D rules that can counter positive/divine?

If its a bug, then i agree with this, or some sort or limitation until its fixed or scripted to work properly.
If its a rules issue, then my point stands: When weapons are created, they can be enchanted by anything, so just make them rare and more expensive.
Heh, i guess my characters are deleted, now. Updating char list soon!

There are things to protect against it in D&D, but not on NWN's engine.

Well.. thats the idea , once again. But.. they won't be sold at a merchant near you. I actually made some divine weapons for the Helm church and I see now why they aren't in. No matter how expensive you make something.. its gonna be bought. People spend hours and hours on end no matter what type of Roleplayer you are, to gather the cash, to get something rare from a shop.

I guess we could sell a Divine weapon, +1 ab 1d4 divine damage for.. 250,000 gold.. but why? Its just ridiculous.. and heavily wanted by everyone. They might as well be priceless.

Comparing this game to PnP,DnD is tough already. When you play PnP can you go to the nearst shop and buy yourself some gloves of Dexterity or any weapon with Acid/Sonic/Fire/divine etc.? Usually not unless thats the type of PnP game your in .

I am pretty sure there will be some characters who may get divine weapons as a rare weapon.. or gift in the future. But to have them easily available no matter what the price is too much to ask because of the obvious stated many times above.

There also maybe a chance someone ( NPC ) may come across a weapon with the abilities stated above and sell them through the black market.. or perhaps auctioned off.

The staff just doesn't want them so easily available and i don't think GBX is stating that there will absolutely be NO divine/positive weapons ever on this server . They are just gonna be almost unique like.

Now i can't wait to see those raise dead scrolls tripled in price . Clerics for the win!

I understand the non-countering point, and it is a good one. I happen to be in the very small minority, I think, of not being a spellcaster of any type, nor taking ranks in Use Magic Device like many.

That relegates my 10th level character to throwing very expensive holy water in the Necropolis or simply not going there.

Wouldn't be a big deal except that is the only area in Sundren that grants me any experience to speak of. My peers who are classed differently are already moving ahead of me steadily because of this. Tough to go from one of the toughest fighters to being able to be beaten by people who started two weeks ago. Not just on my ego but role-playing wise as well.

Personally I think it's just an overall fix of a balance issue, and a very good fix for those classes that specialize in kicking undead arse.

Group with them, then you'll be on the same "leveling pace". I think this fix is meant to promote grouping, so I can't see how it'd be a bad fix for leveling unless you only solo. <3 for clerics...

well if the non countering part is the problem you could always change divine and positive damage weapons to only do it vs undead. I never got lucky enouhg to find one for any of my characters so it doesn't really effect me but just a suggestion :P

It's fine, now Paladin and Clerics (even Blackguards) must imbue the weapons with divine damage.

eh, theres always goiung to be people who joined 2 weeks ago going ahead of you, some people fight alot, some don't. People think "Get highest level then rp". Thats totally wrong, as no one starts out as a superhero.

It's been pointed out numerous times that there is holy water sold for less than 30gp, plus Saulus said he tested the item and it's working as it should. I know being a holy water thrower isn't the most flattering task around (and the fact anyone can do it can often make people just carry holy water themselves instead of ask someone to go help), but it's a start I guess.

It's a ranged touch attack because you gotta throw it at something and hit. I know it works because Kollotta got hit with it when someone was slaying zombies near her.

                                As for the balancing aspect:

You can enchant a weapon with anything.
No you can't, you can enchant a weapon with whatever the DM's say you can. Like I said, I was only open to constructive replies, not "Now I can't solo zombies in the Necropolis." because as I said "That's part of the point." but only Part.

If we put trolls that die to fire and acid, would I snatch these out? No. That is what I mean by part of the reason. Even before we planned the Bog Zombies, people came to me and said "I can't believe there's positive DMg in the loot table!" I agree. And even if you are all correct and we should leave them in, they weren't rare drop before which means everyone has one for the most part, so... bye they go.
