  • +Divine/Positive Damage Items going Poof!

I took them out of the loot table awhile ago, but alot of people have one already. I put them in originally due to my robotic "Populate loot" mode I was in. I've had alot of people come to me and say "Why are these in?" and it makes sense that they shouldn't be. Positive and Divine damage has no counter, while negative can have protections, elements have spells, physical is just physical, etc.

So I will be making a script that will replace these items from people. It's not really open to discussion, although I'll take "Constructive" feed back. And anyone arguing "I can't kill zombies without this" might hear me reply "That is part of the idea".

Holy water, clerics, even bards have "Cure minor wounds" spells. Not to mention all the scroll people find.

Just to recap: Holy Water is NOT BUGGED. It has a touch attack that needs to hit in order to do damage. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the item.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

Holy water is cheap as chips in sundren city. It's only at the temple of kelemvor that it's expensive.

                Here's the zombie issue.

                - 1 guy run in
                - Beat Beat Beat, finish with weapon swap
                - Beat Beat Beat, finish with weapon swap

The point of the holy/divine death was to party. Holy water, while 250coins, is an aoe. So you beat them all down and finish them all at once. Now, one guy has trouble with this, but 2 or 3? Not really. Not to mention, you can split holy water costs.

Or you can do it the easy way and get a pally or someone to help. Begging for soloing power is going to make you run out of breath with us

Now, if a group of 3 level 10's starts having trouble, then I'll look at things differently.

I've yet to find any holy water for sale in sundren City though. I've scurried over the whole of the Temple Barracks of the Triumvirate (spent half an hour making sure I was not missing anything, actually - since people kept telling me it was there) and found nothing of the sort.

There are three named NPCs: Balthazar's conversation not not lead to a shop with all the options. Caspar and Melchior both do have shops, but none of them sell holy water in any of their tabs. So, I bought cure light wound scrolls instead

So i'm wondering, when we start fighting trolls, are fire and acid weapons going away?

Yes, it encourages partying, but it should not be impossible to enchant a weapon with any type of energy or element, therefore, i think it should just be rare to find such weapons. Maybe put a timer on battles to switch weapons? I don't know, but this seems silly to me.
Heh, i guess my characters are deleted, now. Updating char list soon!

It has nothing to do with killing certain monsters and everything to do with the effects having no counter in the mechanics.
