Ixis can drop some amazing rings in that category. I've found 2 High Priests rings. One with +3 wisdom and additional 1-3 level spells, and another with the spells and +4 concentration/spellcraft.

On the boss? I think he's got a decent chance to drop a randomly generated magic item -- its not specific to rings, you just got lucky.

Seems like all I ever find is Rez signuses. I'm free to throw my characters lives way in reckless abandon.

I had 9 at one point ... then I made the mistake of trying to put them in my storage.

I'm likely to do a mix of both types of items, but I am curious to know.

Would you guys prefer more lore oriented items, or more practical items?

You could do both at once.

Something like Shaman's ring. (Additional level 1 spell slot, or 1-2 spell slot))
                Goblin's stone dagger. ((+1 dagger +2 bludgeoning)
                Etc.

I think weapons and armor are easily available. Now rings and belts, or trinkets that have useful abilites even if limited numbers of use would be wonderful for low to mid level characters. Remember Poltergist's limited time offer plushies? Something like that would be invaluable for melee based characters. They granted minor buffs for a few rounds and were very useful for the non magic based. Of course drops like that would be rare.

                      You'd be correct.

On the subject of item creation, how difficult is it to put in a random property generator, from a preset table? Named and unique items that aren't named and unique get awfully dull - IE, that Mossclaw Chieftan's armor. Everyone and their sister owns a set.

I would love to see some of these properties! I thought them up to add to the craft system (which is rather limited to "elemental damage" as it stands) but i think making recipes etc would require a lot of work on the staffs part. If they were added as random properties found on magic items that would be just as good.

As long as the items only have one property each though, if they have something silly like +1 Tumble and Light 10ft...its really a let down as you can't enchant them further so they just become more trader junk.

                        Magic Weapon Enchantments
Fey Dusting - 33% chance on hit target must make a Will save (DC 14) or be dazed for 1 round.
Fey Power - Same but Will DC 20*

Blinding – 20% chance on hit target must make a Will save (DC 14) or be blinded for 5 rounds.
Greater Blinding – Same but Will DC 20*

Silencing – 20% chance on hit target must make a Will save (DC 14) or be silenced for 5 rounds.
Greater Silencing – Same but Will DC 20*

Venomous – 10% chance on hit of poisoning target (initial and secondary damage 1d6 Str, Fort DC 14 negates)
Deadly Venom – Same but Fort DC 20*

Elemental Blast – 5% chance on hit of Fireball/Iceball/Scintillating Sphere etc centred on target (Reflex DC 14, Caster level 9th)
Elemental Fury – Same but Reflex DC 20, Caster level 15th*

Dispelling – 5% chance on hit of casting Dispel Magic (Caster level 9th)
Magic Reaving – Same but Caster level 15th*

Clinging Darkness – 10% chance on hit to inject a vile poison (initial and secondary damage 1d6 Con, Will DC 14 negates). Those reduced to 0 Con die and are transformed into a Wraith of equivalent HD under the wielder's control (there are spells that do similar so shouldn't be too hard right?)
Creeping Darkness – Same but Will DC 20*

                        Magic Armour Enchantments
Buffering – Magic damage reduction 2
Greater Buffering – Magic damage reduction 5*

*These items should be super ridiculously rare

Lol, he has DC 28 Silence on every hit if I remember correctly. My suggestions are hopefully a little more toned down than that, but yes it was his ridiculous sword that made me think..."damn, why can't we have some enchants that cool!"

I would also like to see some more weapons with silence on hit. It will give warriors a little extra something to use against spellcasters. And in theory it wouldn't be overwhelming over-powered to a prepared spellcaster as there are several defences against it. Silent spell feat, wands, armor class/concealment, will saves, silence immunity necklace.

I like the idea of more rings and belts... specifically belts. There aren't any real useful belts in game at the moment.

Also... I would like to recommend an exceptionally rare drop item that would come in the form of a piece of parchment. This parchment would grant the bearer the opportunity to customize one item in game. I know this is a reward granted to RPotM, but if it were a dropped item with the same rarity as a King's Tear... that would be something.

                                Cheers!
